I stumbled on the Megxit programme earlier which was actually very interesting, (I was very 🙄 but gave it a whirl!). next was Princess Anne and her Gatscombe estate, and two more programmes now!
I'm not a royalist particularly but actually it's been quite interesting to watch so far .... albeit I'm 2 programmes in and awaiting my DD16 taking over the telly lol 😂
Anyone else watching? Any thoughts?

They estimated their outgoings at $20m pa which I felt must be too high.

Trivial I know, but I don't recall seeing that big yellow dress on Meghan and I liked it on her.

Don't know which one this was but there's a pretty simple canary yellow dress she wore once and she looks fantastic in it. Yellow is a great colour for her. Better than the recurrent creams and beiges IMO.

Well, nothing new in the finances doc. No surprise there.

What did surprise me was that there wasn't even a passing mention of Archewell, Invictus and Travalyst let alone an analysis of what's already known.

Interesting.

The one question which came out of this for me is (I think I am right - someone tell me if not) Yvette Cooper has asked / urged Harry to pay both sides of the security court case.

Would this not be down to the judge to appoint costs? & then down for everyone to pay accordingly. I assume there isn't a record of what costs were down to Harry (the RAVEC case) and whether he has paid them. I'm more seriously interested in this (given the costs were circa 1.5m and Harry lost and the other legal side would have to be paid by the Govt) than them pissing money away on grandiose levels of staffing (which is collateral interest / humour) 😊

ETA - also no mentions of African Parks re reputational damage. This must be rich territory (Harry's charities) for a proper investigative journalist.

From my own experience of life, when there is a family fracture, there are usually faults on both sides.

From my experience of life, when there is a family fracture, one side might concede that the other has a point but it’s usually not the side that actually needs to.

I watched some of the "Kate" documentary last night. My God, she's had to show some grit.

Thedom · 15/06/2025 16:41

I watched the one about their finances, nothing interesting at all, they steered well away from Invictus finances and never mentioned Harrys speaking gigs or Betterup.

The clips of Meghan show just how beautiful she was in her RF days, her clothes were classy and perfect, her hairstyles were much nicer. I know she is older now but her dress sense now is dreadful 90% of the time. Her friend, Jessica Mulroney was styling her then, she should make up with her and get her back on board.

The one I was liking was like a billowing tent, a very nice, yellow, billowing tent.

I watched that one tonight and agree that it was strange they didn’t mention Better Up . Assuming he is still there ? Has he actually had any speaking events ?
All in all a bit bland.

CathyorClaire · 16/06/2025 20:26

Good point on BetterUp being another omission.

H was estimated to be trousering some $1m PA from the gig and while that wouldn't touch the sides of C5's estimated $20m expenses (I'd quite like to see how they calculated that) it seems odd to leave it out.

CathyorClaire · 16/06/2025 20:32

Oh and on the speaking gigs I think I saw somwhere he's now for hire at an entirely reasonable knock-down rate of £100k per event.

Quite a discount from the £750k pre-pandemic fleecing of gullible bankers.

Wow he's not exactly bringing any intelligence, quality or gravity to anything he attends 🤯

Really enjoyed last night's one about Diana's wedding dress! Crazy watching a programme for what seemed like hours about a dress !

I've seen it before so I only watched a bit of it. I wish I had the courage to wear my hair in such a zany way as Elizabeth Emmanuel. (I don't know her current surname.)

Luddite26 · 30/06/2025 11:45

Yes I agree she looked Fab.i found it quite emotional by the end when they did the impromptu flop on the floor photos.
I loved the fact the seamstresses and husbands were invited to the wedding too.
And Barbara Daly did Di's makeup then went on to the Body Shop and I think a stint on This Morning back in the day.
It was a good gig for a young couple starting out wasn't it. Made me laugh when they said about Princess Margaret visiting the shop to see her daughter's dress.
Such a long time ago now!

GellerYeller · 30/06/2025 21:08

I’ve not finished watching but it’s always struck me- how does Elizabeth get her hair like that? I always assumed it was early extensions hence it being so choppy. But she’s stuck with that style. Not that I’m planning to replicate her look but…Anyone know how?

I never liked the way she left her coats open, though (not just when trying to get her bump on film for posterity). It always looked too casual and not very royal - as if we’d caught her on a shopping trip or something!

I think, on the whole, she does casual and evening much better. I suppose it’s only the RF these days who wear formal day-wear - it wouldn’t be in a Californian woman’s repertoire.

prelovedusername · 01/07/2025 06:43

I don’t think Meghan Markle ever looked classy, but she did look infinitely better. It just shows what royal money can do for a moderately pretty woman.

I have two Charles-and-Di mugs, not expensive ones, and I use them every now and again. I bought one at the time and bought the other from a charity shop, long after the divorce. It's pyrex and very handy for warming up a bit of milk in the micro. Thanks, C and D.
