I think we all know this is gossip !

Headlines in the Mirror which elevates it somewhat or just refelcts the massive reach of H&M in the modern social media age and how they can mometize that fame. No soverign grants for them so twerking it is !

It has been discussed here on several occasions.

As I understand it, the Duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall are required by law to charge commercial rents. They cannot legally waive these rents (for charities, for example).

It does seem odd that by law they have to charge commercial rates while being excused the taxation that might justify that law.

Did you miss the documentary, the many articles at the time, the numerous threads on here specifically about it, and the numerous times it’s brought up in other threads on the royal boards?

If so, then yes, you might be the only one who didn’t know this.

Why are people so rude?

Rapunzle · 08/06/2025 12:35

There was a good documentary about this & about how many of their properties are not maintained from damp or heated sufficiently & how the irony is their landlords are royals pocketing from their misfortune (while claiming to want to improve housing & eradicate homelessness etc).
I don’t know anything about prior or event recent debate about this on here or the posters who are on either side or pro/anti M & H.
It is shocking & convenient that it’s legally sanctioned. And not surprising that it’s been kept quiet for so long. Wonder what other things are being kept hidden?

I think those of us with our eyes open did, yes.

It wasn’t front page news for obvious reasons of course.

Why are people so rude?

Being direct to someone who hasn’t bothered to read any of the million other threads and comments on this or do a simple search before posting isn’t being rude, in my experience.
