So tragic, it appears she took her own life after the strain of recent years and all the trauma that must have accompanied it. So desperately sad.

I hope she's at peace now.

There is also a busy thread in the Chat section.

Jesus Christ, that poor woman. She was obviously a very troubled soul who went through a lot of trauma and pain. I hope she is at peace now.

TheAutumnCrow · 26/04/2025 07:51

There are three threads going as well as this that I can see, @OneWiseSquid.

One about whether Andrew has ‘blood on his hands’, which may end up being moved here. (But I hope not, as it’s very victim-blaming in parts and I’ve stopped reading.)

Then there's the original one that started when she was in a road traffic accident, that I have posted on this morning.

And one marked with a suicide ‘TW’ (trigger warning).

Maybe it’s a good idea to have this separate thread on this Royal Family board for a respectful discussion of the implications for the royal family and its reputation?

As I posted on the other thread, there was an especially awful You Tube posted up this past week - I didn’t watch it, just saw the title - which seemed very venomous about her. I suppose it just all gets too much in the end, on top of family estrangement.

I do wonder if it’ll be open season against her and her memory, life and times now, after the obligatory day or so of ‘respectful behaviour’ from the various social media commenters on the various royal family members.

OneWiseSquid · 26/04/2025 09:13

I can definitely see how she spiralled. It must gave been unbearable for her. My heart breaks for her, I know someone in a very similar situation, but withput the publicity. It's as though she was put in the stocks and everyone, including her own children in the end, turned against her.

It is horrific, as you said AutumnCrow, thereare people on here victim-blaming and as women we should know better. I read some statistucs recently that most women have been subject to sexual harrassment or assault of some kind. It is devastating.

Prettyfly, you are right, we can only hope she has some peace now.

I posted on here because I was hoping to have a place to have a respectful discussion, she deserves it.

I have been reading about her, the links between trauma and dysfunction are so often there, ideally and in hindsight the exaggeration of the bus crash should have sent alarm bells ringing about her mental health. It's so sad as it's clearly become a generational trauma with her children who'd already been through the trauma of what preceded the loss of custody and now this. I do hope that no matter what comes out about her recent years people remember to understand the catalyst.

TheAutumnCrow · 26/04/2025 10:24

Agreed, @Vespanest. Ghislaine Maxwell preyed on an already badly abused and troubled young girl, and she and her rich pals took most of what was left of her.

Virginia Giuffre used up her last reserves from the tank fighting her legal actions and raising awareness of trafficking in plain sight along the rich and famous.

But people have just loved to be spiteful and venomous about her. She was right about Epstein, and she was right about Maxwell. Why wouldn't she be right about Andrew? Of course she wasn't after money - she was after that elusive and fragile thing, peace of mind. That she never found it is a testament to scale of the damage done to her, and to many other girls and women like her, by vile, uncaring and arrogant men and their female enablers.

Whatacircus · 26/04/2025 10:36

'There are three threads going as well as this.....' So what?? There are many threads on Megan on a daily basis on here and no doubt there will be many more.
Virginia had a horrible abusive life as a young girl, something which clearly still haunted her. She was treated appallingly by some who tried to justify Andrew's behaviour by muddying the waters over the age of consent. All the while ignoring the trafficking of Virginia and other vulnerable young girls.

Andrew knew that Epstein liked young vulnerable girls and therefore was complicit in all that happened. He was part of it all and continued his relationship with Epstein when all was being exposed.
Charles is no better. Remember his support for known abusers? Something that is rarely mentioned and has been largely brushed under the carpet. Charles cannot push Andrew too much when you look at his own history.

Hopefully Virginia is now at peace and those that loved her will be allowed to grieve.

I was truly sorry to read this. She fought as hard as she could but she couldn't escape the pain of her trauma. It's very sad news and my thoughts are with her children.

Terrapinn · 26/04/2025 11:12

Devastated to hear this this morning. She was failed, abused and exploited at every turn - as are the millions of other young girls and women who are suffering in silence as the victims of trafficking and SA.

I take some comfort from the fact that she was in a long stable marriage with 3 children and I hope those years brought her joy and peace. I dont know how or why things unravelled for her more recently. It seems she moved her family across Australia and maybe this was too much for the teens and the marriage. Her MH was always going to be fragile - maybe her teenagers becoming the age she was when she was trafficked was triggering and traumatic for her. RIP.

I see Victoria Hervey couldn't wait to stick the daggers in.

SoNotaRealHousewife · 26/04/2025 11:40

Terribly sad

CathyorClaire · 26/04/2025 12:01

😡

Clearly as vile as her ex 😡

She's a foul enabler indeed.

I'm looking forward to reading Andrew Lownie's book on the Yorks. I wonder if she'll get a mention?

stillclueless · 26/04/2025 17:37

Such sad news to hear feel for her children and family. Virginia was abused from a young age and those abusers and those complicit in the abuse should hang their heads in shame today. Noticeable how this thread has so few posts’ from the regular posters on this board.

I think we all feel that it’s tragic that her life has ended this way and that she is truly a victim of vile and disgusting treatment throughout her life. What else is there to be said? I’m pretty sure no one here would disagree 🤷‍♀️

ScottishEggs · 26/04/2025 17:59

I was very saddened by the news. I hope she is now at peace and I am thinking of the loved ones and her children who she has left behind. Thanks

NewAgeNewMe · 26/04/2025 18:01

May she rest in peace.

ScottishEggs · 26/04/2025 18:03

As for #Lady' Victoria Harvey she is someone who has done nothing and achieved nothing and has been peddling her two seconds of relationship with PA for years. Pathetic individual who should not be given any airtime and she has revealed herself to be an empty vicious non-entity with her post.

INeedAnotherName · 26/04/2025 18:14

Ohhhhh, she really has died then. So that weird sm post after her accident was the biggest shout for help anyone could do. Poor woman, I hope she's finally at peace.

👏👏👏

this lowest of the low.

SolarSystemic · 26/04/2025 21:28

The MAGA lot are out saying she was murdered.

I feel so sorry for her children. Her post about being in hospital was clearly a cry for help. She was in such a difficult position, it’s so awful she couldn’t get the help she needed.

Orangemintcream · 26/04/2025 21:34

I feel so sorry for her and hope very much she is a peace now.

She was 100% a victim of sexual abuse. That much is clear. Some may dispute that Prince Andrew was one of her abusers given lack of “concrete” proof.

Personally I believe her. Even without “concrete” evidence it’s highly likely.

I think she thought the court case (and hitting him in the pocket) would give her closure and unfortunately it didn’t.

Windowtothe · 26/04/2025 21:35

Gutted. We really aren’t making any progress are we. 😔
My thoughts are with her children tonight. RIP heroic woman.
