Josh Widdicombe insta post re Sophie Wessex yesterday - (nasty & deleted)

I don’t follow him but sometimes listen to parenting hell. This popped up yesterday but seems to have disappeared. It was quite bizarre as he filmed himself in a shop picking up a 60th birthday magazine which he nastily mocked then put back in the rack. A lot of the comments supported Sophie saying she is hard working, leave her alone. One of his responses was he is more royal than her (as in who do you think you are). Some of the supporting comments were vile eg “as Sean Lock said that’s a hard w**k”. Seemed very cruel, unnecessary and parallels with another ginger bullying a Sophie.

I quoted a particularly revolting (and short) response because it stuck in my mind. I remembered the gist of the post but didn’t memorise it. There’s nothing sinister to see here.

Google was my friend. I only clicked on this thread because I know who Josh Widdicombe is didn't know who Sophie was. I have heard of her husband but thought he was the gay one? Royal family definitely isn't my specialist subject.

Not Princess Anne's child either (think she had none?)

Also I listened to the episode of parenting hell with the comment about RR and the Sabrina carpenter tickets, defending is a stretch!! They said she could've easily gone and sat in the standard seats with a bouncer if really necessary but that no one there would've even known who she was. That was followed by admissions of who says no to freebies.

Josh Widdicombe is descended from Anne Boleyn’s sister, Mary Boleyn, via Mary’s daughter Catherine Carey. Who was therefore Elizabeth I’s first cousin - and potentially in reality her half-sister, given Mary Boleyn was for a time Henry VIII’s mistress. (Catherine Carey was born in 1524 a couple of years before Henry started pursuing Anne in 1526).

I would call Josh Widdicombe's hair a bit ginger. I don't follow what he does except if he turns up on a BBC mainstream comedy show and I haven't thought he was awful, but I suppose he might be, on other things.

I like him. its an odd thread, as no one seems to know what he is supposed ot have said.
