I understand that it is sometimes a shock to see that people have different opinions to you but making comments like ‘your kind’ was out of order.

Meghan and Harry have a multitude of ways to make money. Why do they need to rip off their fans? The price point on those items is insane and the amount of packaging it very environmentally unfriendly. Surely there was a better way than this!

I genuinely don’t see the pricing as a rip off. Is it not comparable to those on the royal collection shop?

Bontonbonbon · 07/04/2025 10:09

This a thousand times. We all have to work within our budget. I’d love a bigger house but we don’t have the cash. In a time period where many people are feeling the squeeze, getting your fans to pay over the odds for jam to keep you in your mansion is distasteful and tone deaf!

I don’t think it’s fair, all kinds of people are buying, not just fans. I’m sure no one is breaking bank to get it.

BemusedAmerican · 07/04/2025 10:26

No, Highgrove is cheaper, the products are better, and they actually arrive.

I believe the “royal collection” shops sell good quality produce with a local connection. Not excessively runny spread in small jars with overblown packaging. So probably better value for money 😊

There have been trespassers at their home. That in itself is costly to keep secure.

So why are they not taking legal action against the US government or state of California where they live and are according to you at risk and need of security?

Why are they taking legal action against the UK government to pay for security?

Do you think UK tax payers should fund their security where ever they are in the world?

They have access to highest security accomodation when they travel to the UK but they chose to stay in less secure hotels instead - why?

BemusedAmerican · 07/04/2025 10:40

Why should US tax payers pay for their security? They could have bought a smaller house with smaller grounds that are easier to secure. My apartment building has had problems in the past few months with intruders. We called the police and let all the residents know to make sure the outside doors are locked. It's a fact of life in the US.

Has there? I've missed the headline about this.

I hate to break it to you but squaddies are receiving their orders. I understand your desperation to believe otherwise.

Gorgeous packaging too.

Twitter Thread

Some are preparing for seconds. Anything else?

Can you tell us what a " squaddie" is? You seem to know them.

I have no way to confirm that Highrove products are better - have you tried both?. As ever products are arriving, why do you think they aren’t?

Short for “sussex squad”, dedicated fans of Harry and Meghan.

Ah “x” that well known bastion of truth and honesty!

It's refreshing to have a poster that doesn't deny the very existence of the Sussex Squad on social media.

Why would it be denied? some are extreme alright but most are just there to raise donations for H&Ms charities and promote their projects

It is often denied here that anyone could actually be a member. Invariably people claim to have come across threads by accident, to not be interested in royal affairs and to not be fans of Meghan but feel they have to support her anyway.

I prefer your approach that's all.

There have been a few reports of intruders trying to break in, fly drones etc. If must be really worrying to live with and they have a lot of estate to secure. Maybe that's why their security costs are so high?

They have access to highest security accomodation when they travel to the UK but they chose to stay in less secure hotels instead - why?

If Harry wins against the UK government then he’d have a case for IPP status. IPP status means that wherever he travelled in the world, he’d get protection as if he was a VIP. The US would automatically have to give protection if he was an IPP.

He doesn’t get automatic protection when he visits the UK. It’s assessed on a case by case basis and always granted if it’s “family business” like a funeral but not if it’s a leisure trip eg his court cases which is very reasonable.

I don’t know why he picks a hotel - maybe it’s so that his court case isn’t weakened. The Home Office would rightly point out that royal residences are protected so staying with family means that he is safe by default. There’s also a strong possibility of the embarrassing “Harry sees the king for 15 minutes” sort of headlines that happened when he flew to the UK after Charles’ cancer was announced.

It must be high.

But then with the amount of money they waste on lawsuits (well Harry in particular) maybe the new business adventures are just extra padding

Harry is not winning that and it’s a horrible waste of money. He will just have to limit his visits to the UK is all.
