Since large portions have been redacted, does it tell the whole story? Why the need for the redaction ? What are your guesses about what Harry revealed about his drug history?

I've seen reports the HF can appeal against the heavy redactions and I fully expect this to happen.

Thing that bugs me is 'Waaagh' was trumpeted as being the highest selling NF book of all time and in light of this case it's been suggested Harold embellished his snorting for dramatic effect and sales which if taken at face value makes a mockery of the accolade.

Will Harold turn the badge in if turns out the most he officially admitted to snorting was Elizabeth Arden 24 Hour fumes?

I don’t know how the American visa system works. Is anyone’s application a public document? If so, what are the criteria for redaction?

Just checked the news reports. If what he appears (according to the Guardian) to have revealed in his memoir is the extent of his involvement with drugs is enough to block his application, then frankly a significant % of the population would be blocked too! And The Heritage Foundation?? Really?

There should always be layers of scrutiny to all public offices. I'm unsure why heritage would want the papers released rather than confirmation that all procedures were correctly followed by an independent authority. It's the two tier treatment, the right to privacy is ignored for person A who lied on his application by the fact he gets deported but B who lied has a right to keep that lie private because of who they are. But it's not like this is a unique US government thing or that Harry is the most controversial

Why would Harry not shut this down, make a statement from the Office of Whatever, stating he was open and honest on his visa application and his visa was issued in accordance with the US office of Iimmigration rules etc..

The Heritage Foundation are like a dog with a bone and the redacted documents are a joke and only adding fuel to the fire.

It's like saying " no comment " an admission of guilt.

Maybe someone in the Heritage Foundation was gifted a copy of "Spare" and actually read it. Now they want revenge for the hours of life that they will never get back.

I agree with you. But truth be told we know he’s a liar so it shouldn’t be any surprise he’s lied on a visa application form.

Surely he’s as entitled as anyone else to have his personal information kept confidential?

All that 'damp squib' results like this means is that Joe Public gets even more hacked off with what they perceive to be special treatment for slebs. That is NOT good for Harry's reputation which, as far as I can see, is sliding downwards faster than a fireman on a greasy pole.

It’s not really about Harry. It’s about a government of oligarchs and their opportunistic followers pretending they care about ‘Joe Public’ by using Harry and his visa to convey the false impression that they are there to make America better for the poor and financially struggling.

Isn't part of the problem no-one knows what kind of visa Harold holds and whether (as suspected in some quarters) it's some kind of top of the range diplomatic deal and comes with security provision at US expense?

I don't get the fixation with just harry, why aren't theyl news going after all the visa applications if celebs or public figures to be made public. I get why trump.wint push to open it up, Melania got in on an Einstein visa for god's sake and Elon in the past admitted overstaying his visa working illegally and lying. If they let us paw over everyone's then you'd be really able to see how they all lied and have to deport everyone
