To get images of the King bopping along to the lyrics of escapism out of my head do we think in reality there is a small set of advisers that have chosen various artists for the King's preferences to be as relevant to diverse Britain as possible and his real musical tastes are a bit different?

He has previously expressed a preference for Leonard Cohen, Fred Astaire and the Three Degrees so I suspect he has a rather eclectic taste in music!

I know he has in-depth knowledge and interest in classical music - Kate said he was the one who helped plan her wedding music - going into the meanings and symbolism of the different pieces, and I believe it was reported that it was similar for Harry and Meghan’s wedding music.

Hard to say re modern music - I guess we assume that old rich men are all of a type but he’s shown diverse interests across other parts of his life so maybe music too?

My Dad is in his 80s and he’s never got past the sound of the sixties in terms of favourites.

Raye sang on Strictly. Maybe he watches the show with Camilla and saw her there 😀

This morning on The Royal Family Instagram he is talking about The Locomotion by Kylie. It's endearing as he obviously does like the song but it's working against his suit and tie.

Some of the choices were highly improbable

Charles may be a YouTube junkie. I've been exposed to lots of music that I normally wouldn't listen to on YouTube. In fact, now that I've canceled my Netflix subscription, I get one to Youtube so I won't have to deal with commercials.

Edited for typos.

He was a teenager in the 1960s so I suppose that influenced his taste in music.

Given my 88 year old mums Spotify round up last year, I actually am no longer surprised at what people listen to 🤘
However I suspect this is a combination of advisers and his choice. But I would bet that once given the list he listened to them all. I may not be their biggest fan but the RF are usually phenomenally briefed and prepared, he won't risk some random asking about one of them at a future event and not recognising it.

Charles has probably had to sit through endless concerts so I would imagine he does have quite eclectic taste.

I would agree with the poster who said once advised which might be good, he would have listened to them all. He is that kind of guy.

I remember my 80yo grandad declaring his love for kasabian so anything goes!

Edited

He could be a TikTock one lots of different music on there too that he could then listen to in full on his Spotify family subscription 😂
