It’s just the other 8 episodes from the 16 they originally filmed. Netflix are probably releasing them late to give her some time to sort out the huge cock up that is the ARO/ As Ever rebrand.

Did they really film 16 episodes to start with?

I saw something saying they're filming the second season now.

It would make sense though as I can hardly imagine it would be renewed for popularity reasons.

I read it was filmed in April. Just after the first one. So ready to go. A third will depend on the success of the first two …

I watched the first episode today after reading (and enjoying!) all the reviews and criticism. I'm not a Meghan fan AT ALL, but I thought the show was fine. People are being ridiculous about it. It's wholesome and friendly, and quite fun and relaxing to watch. I thought she seemed very natural and likeable. I liked all the activities. They were nice and simple. No airs and graces. One pot spaghetti, great, I'm lazy - works for me. Cayenne and turmeric in tea, nice. I liked seeing the honey being harvested and the raw beeswax. None of it blew me away but it sparked a few ideas. The only thing that annoyed me were her puffy sleeves in the cooking, but if she wants to ruin her expensive clothes then that's up to her. I'd give it 7 out of 10. Was fully prepared to give it 0-3 after reading all the reviews. I've only watched the first episode though.

It could be they had quite a lot of bits left from the first filming sessions or it could be contractual. I wonder if they’ll keep the format the same.

But I very much doubt it is because it is a success because it barely made a dent in the Netflix charts and that was with a shit tonne of articles and hate watches.

@Hemlocked If she was anyone else it would probably just hang around on Netflix as a casual watch and no one would care.

But being who she is has made it worth commenting on because of what she’s said previously and how she has behaved. Like any well known bully, people are keen to see her finally get her comeuppance.

Second season has apparently 'completed filming' and will air in the fall of this year which reads between the lines as the whole lot completed in one gigantic camera melting sesh.

Still. At least she might get the merch organised by then...

I liked it. It was vacuous and silly and frivolous but nice.

It would be like a Hallmark Christmas movie with Mimosa cocktails and cashmere scarves.

I preface my comments by saying I’ve only watched 1 episode and had the 2nd running while doing stuff around the house. The colours and light are gorgeous, it’s beautifully beautifully shot. The kitchen is meh, I expected something much flashier, it’s the sort of kitchen middle class Aussies have but never mind. The let down for me and why I wasn’t pulled in to keep watching is because the stuff she’s making is pretty crap looking to be honest. Those teabags stuffed on top of the jar of bath salts with a scrap of hessian round it? Really? It looked like two 8 year old girls had done a school project. The pasta stewed in its starchy water is not enticing. The only new thing I came away with was how small the serving sizes are that skinny women eat. I really need to cut back lol.

It must have been prerecorded because I don’t think that after the roasting it has had, she’d find anyone willing to go on there with her again.

As I noted on another thread the CEO of Netflix said, a couple of months ago, ‘Love here or hate her, people will watch her.’ (I’ve paraphrased). So, they’ve accounted for the hate.

I think Meghan’s response to all this is admirable. Posting humourous instagrams - wearing a cap with ‘Lettuce Romaine Calm’ - having a laugh. More power to her. Charles was right if he really did call her ‘tungsten.’ She is resilient.
