As discussed here previously, I and some other posters, enticed by 'Reserve Your Seat at the Table', signed up for the newsletter on the As Ever holding page at asever.com, now with some products on it, if not the actual pricing: Raspberry Spread, Honey with Honeycomb, Flower Sprinkles, Herbal Hibiscus Tea, Herbal Peppermint Tea, Herbal Lemon Ginger Tea, Crepe Mix, Shortbread Cookies with Flower Sprinkle, all in the original ARO packaging and presentation, the little ribbon and so on. Not a mere brand - perish the thought - but a 'love language'. The newsletter finally plopped into my mailbox, containing some word salad, with a quite desperate, hysterical tone to it, it seemed to me. Just one quote is enough to get the idea:

They [who?] say you have to break a lot of eggs to make an omelette - and that is true [just two eggs would be enough, surely?] Sometimes, they fall, sometimes they crack, and sometimes you don't have enough eggs at all - no matter how many eggs you break in the process, you can still end up with pretty great omelette.

Oh and if jam is her jam, I hope she’s sterilising the jars, and tying her flipping hair back!

English shortbread. 🙄 You couldn't make it up.

Do we know when the products will be available ? I expect the Sussex Squad to be waiting with credit cards at the ready .

It will they buy dupes like with earrings?

From Tesco and pretend it's Meghan's?

Prevalence · 06/03/2025 19:58

Imagine being so beautiful, famous and influential , having such amazing opportunities to do good and shine light on amazing people , their suffering and support them indirectly by highlighting their struggles and championing people... You could set up scholarships, fund reading programmes, support disaster relief, anything that is making an actual difference... Just to use your power and influence to sell jam :'(

What a waste.

Along with a host of journos, all wanting to review the products and check out their origins.

Not only English, but "crunchy". She obviously doesn't understand the meaning of "short" in this context.

Maybe someone can verify... I heard the pancake mix was selling for $50 or so? That's just flour, eggs and water!

I'd love to see a price list.

SpreadingJammyTodgerLove · 06/03/2025 21:09

When the website first went up, everything seemed to be $25. That number may have just been a place filler though. The roll out of the site has been all a bit amateur hour.

AdditionalCharacter · 06/03/2025 21:10

Harry enjoys watching her do her work, with a sparkle in his eyes, reminds them of when they first started dating...blah blah blah. 🤢

Does she actually believe her own hype? The continuation of their love story no doubt.

Yes I genuinely don't understand why her brand is so clearly designed for the trad-wifey, Utah Mormon mom, Republican aesthetic?! It's about as far from feminism as you could possibly get.

The conspiracy theorist in me almost thinks that her team decided to lean in heavily for Trump's America and basically turn her into a trad wife, Nara Smith type icon. The mixed-race x old money aesthetic is bang on trend and they felt that image is hugely marketable right now.

SpreadingJammyTodgerLove · 06/03/2025 21:22

This was filmed last Spring, though, so well before the election. Unless it's had some post election editing to appeal to Republican soccer moms, but I doubt it. The content is as thin as her pasta sauce. I just think it's trad wife and vacuous, because that's what she is choosing to cos play in order to convince the world she has the perfect marriage and domestic set up.

BemusedAmerican · 06/03/2025 21:23

Everyone in Trump's America is:

-afraid our jobs will be cut.

  • looking at higher food costs due to the tariffs.
-looking at higher energy costs due to tariffs.

I am not spending a bundle on overpriced prepacked imported non-essential food.

It sounds like she has never actually eaten shortbread if she thinks it is crunchy. Unless she has tried making some and burnt it I suppose. That could be pretty crunchy.
Does harry not proof read her crap if it relates to anything english? Maybe he keeps it all at arms length because he is heartily embarrassed by his wife’s QVC style new career. He must know we will all be in fits of laughter let alone his posh friends and family. He didn’t look all that happy when he gave that toast at her “party”.
In some ways it’s easier to be detested than ridiculed.
I hope Catherine is really enjoying all of this. She who laughs last laughs longest.

SpreadingJammyTodgerLove · 06/03/2025 21:36

I doubt Harry could tell a shortbread from a Jaffa cake, tbh. His interests lie elsewhere 🍄

TwinklyNight · 06/03/2025 21:52

Mylovelygreendress · 06/03/2025 09:17

I think one of the problems Meghan has is that whatever she does is to benefit her rather than others eg Uvalde .
The RF is all about highlighting charities etc not the person themself .

"The RF is all about highlighting charities etc not the person themself."

I thought a really good example of that was when Prince Philip died, and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award was taken over by the new Duke of Edinburgh.

No namechange needed. I don't suppose anyone ever thought of naming it the Prince Philip Award when it was set up.

They use their titles like job descriptions. It's not the individual who counts, it's the office they hold and the work they do.

This ⬆️. I think if you're looking for fame and fortune, as Meghan is determined to, marrying into the BRF isn't the way forward. It's about service and representing the UK. Not yourself.

Well, technically it would just be flour and dried egg as you’d have to add your own water. If you also need to add your own egg then really it’s just a box of flour with some preservatives in. Anything more than £2 and I’d feel mugged off 😂
