How long has he had that for then? I thought they weren't allowed beards in uniform. Suits him mind

hope he keeps it. it suits him.

GrouchyKiwi · 11/11/2024 09:36

Since the Summer, I think.

I like it too.

upinaballoon · 11/11/2024 10:08

He seemed to have designer stubble in the summer holidays and it's a bit heavier now, and very fashionable.
Men's face-hair fashions are interesting. If you look at a group photo of about 1900 almost every man will have a moustache, even if the chin is shaven. Did your father or brothers ever experiment with growing a beard for a while?

I think William looks fine with it.

smilesy · 11/11/2024 10:59

He’s had it since the summer. He shaved it off once because apparently Princess Charlotte was in tears over it, but he has managed to change her mind.

As for the beard in uniform, all the forces now allow facial hair as long as it is a properly maintained crop. The army changed their policy this year

Prince William reveals Charlotte had very unexpected reaction to his designer beard

The Prince of Wales said he grew it back after convincing his daughter the facial hair would be ‘okay’.

I think the beard suits him.
But my 14 dd said how in all his recent pics.
His eyes look so sad

LlynTegid · 11/11/2024 19:20

I don't like it. His choice though.

Questionary · 11/11/2024 19:20

I think it really suits him

Uricon2 · 11/11/2024 19:34

I think it suits him too.

ETA at least it matches his hair. Even Robert Redford fell foul of the "blond but dark facial hair" thing.

SantaToSSD · 11/11/2024 19:36

I'm with Charlotte.

EdithWeston · 11/11/2024 20:32

I think he looks better without, but it's his face and presumably he (and/or his missus) likes it

CathyorClaire · 11/11/2024 20:35

Not keen. I think it ages him.

Harold wears the look better.

GetrudeCoppard · 11/11/2024 20:36

I like it. It improves him. I also like Harry’s.

MagdaLenor · 11/11/2024 20:37

I'm not a fan, but his body, his choice. At least it's neat.

Waitingfordoggo · 11/11/2024 20:39

I bloody love beards in general so I approve (though I usually like them a big bigger and bushier than that). I think beards are especially good on bald/balding men as they sort of balance things out and help the chap not look completely like an egg. My husband is (almost) bald and has a beard so I think I’m allowed to say that.

Lifestooshort71 · 12/11/2024 07:07

Not keen on it, looks like scruffy stubble so perhaps a bit longer? Wonder whether he'll shave it all off when Catherine is given the all-clear - is it a sort of good luck charm at the moment? Anyway, don't like beards but definitely his choice (MOH has one and don't like that either!).

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 12/11/2024 08:58

I like it. It does seem to be a very personal matter of opinion though, you either like beards/stubble or you don’t.
