The royal family

She has done here - she’s worn this hat, plus a checked coat, the last three times she’s gone to church in Balmoral. As you can see, it makes no difference to the coverage. It does however give the Sussex squad the opportunity to flood Twitter claiming that the photos are months old and therefore faked, since their thesis is that William and Kate are separated and spend no time together.

Whivh just goes to prove that in their position they should wear what they want, since people will run with their own interpretations no matter what!

Was just going to reply and then saw you'd already said it much better than I would have.

When it comes to the RF (& esp Catherine) the pap shots can't be avoided. She's clearly trying to minimise their value by wearing the same hat/coat again.

Sunsetand · 23/09/2024 10:18

@serenster An eagle eyed pp pointed out Catherine was wearing different earrings yesterday, after another pp had said it was an old photo.

But I do agree with your point about the ‘old photo’/faked photos and the rumours. It’s madness.

I don’t take those sorts of rumours seriously, and wouldn’t bother reading them. I’m not a fan of Twitter. Elon Musk has wrecked it. Hate accounts are monetised and I wouldn’t look there for any truth. A blue tick means something completely different now. Conspiracies are everywhere it seems. Also madness.

I have the same attitude in regard to the speculation about Meghan and Harry’s marriage - the rumours that they are living separately, that she’ll divorce him to move onto someone richer and so on. I don’t have to go to Twitter to read that as I can read it on here - still.

That's like saying a Porsche from the Ferrari range ...

Sense of humour missing?? I thought it was funny!

Did you mean to click into the Royal Family section then be thoroughly snarky about a thread about the Royal Family? 🤔

Snarky?? Great word! Are posters only allowed to read posts that they agree with… then comment with really arse licking posts about these over privileged inbreds?

Gall10 · 23/09/2024 12:49

MrsMagoooo · 22/09/2024 16:29

And mine!
My back is playing up.

I've got a posh lightweight Miele but it's still too heavy. Any recommendations for a light unit for stairs?

Wonder what the King uses..

Charlie boy probably uses servants! Poorly paid ones at that!

Treelichen · 23/09/2024 12:50

Ooh, how exciting.

feathermucker · 23/09/2024 12:53

Vacuuming was popular yesterday because I did mine too 🥰🙃

FloofPaws · 23/09/2024 21:54

@sanityisamyth - Henry and Family don't have a surname though so I'm not sure what else to call them all ... Henry is kind of the family BMW estate, Hetty is the Mini Cooper, Charles is the Landrover that goes underwater and just keeps going ... can't remember the other names ... bound to be a James tho

Inbreds? Which members of the current Royal Family married a first cousin or a further- removed cousin? Who's the last one, going back into history, who married a cousin?

In the main line, you have to go back more than 180 years to Victoria and Albert to find a marriage between cousins (her mother and his father were siblings).

Edward VII and Alexandra were not related.
George VI and Queen Mary both had George III as a great-grandfather, which I think counts as distantly related.
George VI and Elizabeth - not related.
Elizabeth II and Philip - they shared Queen Victoria as a great-great grandmother (again, very distantly related)
Charles III and Diana - not related
William and Kate - not related.

Basically all of them!

Wow…. You’re really invested ( no pun) in this family aren’t you?

It's called 'history', isn't it?

And while we're being snarky...are you one of those teenagers with a give-away user name, with absolutely no knowledge of anything at all, who comes on here to be silly?

halava · 26/09/2024 14:35

The biggest issue I have with them going to church is that they probably don't believe or have any faith anyway. All of them at the top ranks. Just for tradition and show.

I think that could apply to a lot of people who go to places of worship! There are many reasons, cultural ones in particular, that people go to churches, temples and mosques.
