Since when do we run Netflix and Archewell Productions. People will just have to wait.

Yes. Waiting is exactly what everyone is doing. With less and less interest as the years go by, I suggest.

Lemonda - deal announced Feb 2024. In April 2024, a delay in new content until 2025 was announced.

ARO - announced existence in March 2024. Instagram posts of ARO jams gifted to people. No further announcements or timetable set. Rumours of TV show, no formal announcements by Netflix.

Pearl Cartoon - not picked up by Netflix in May 2022.

Polo documentary - in production with Netflix. No announcement of release date or further details.

Meet me at the Lake Movie - announcement that the rights had been acquired as a project for Archewell Productions. No details as to development, including script, casting, filming or dates.

Book deal - it was rumoured Harry had a 4 book deal. There has been no announcements on any other books in development.

i’m sure I have missed some….

…we are an impatient lot. No control over it all is wearisome when it feels like a 🐌 pace. However, I wish them success. Prince Edward had some success with his production company (mainly in America) but it was not too successful overall. So, I hope that Meghan and Harry continue to build in this area and reap rewards.

Miss Haversham before Great Expectations. Possibly the worst idea of them, that has already been explored as much as it plausibly can in a book and in the BBC's Dickensian series. Turning a child abuser into a relatable feminist icon who was hoodwinked by love is a stretch for anyone's imagination.

40x40. Tumbleweed.

Harry's African documentary - which the Sussex's staunch ally, Dr Tessa Dunlop, stated categorically was being filmed because her mate was going to be in it - but then the African Parks scandal broke....

Thanks for the timeline.

I think they just throw ideas and projects out there in a desperate haphazard way, possibly trying to keep interest up, and then the tortuous delays make said endeavours look as if they're fizzling out like damp squibs. Imagine more than a few of them are.

If they are indeed taking advice (doubtful IMO) it's bad advice.

Thinkingabouttherapy · 24/08/2024 17:42

if the cooking show was in production in April, test audience screenings were probably held around the time of the ill-fated ARO launch. Reports suggest these didn’t go well and the cooking show will likely be ditched. Hence no further ARO updates and the urgently rescheduled Colombia visit - probably designed to serve as a distraction if the news about the Netflix cancellation is leaked.

As I recall, Harry had planned to spend several weeks in the U.K. this summer and celebrate his 40th birthday here, but then quietly changed those plans - I think we can all draw our own conclusions as to why.

It’s just constant PR nonsense with those two. Meanwhile, the RF are just supremely unbothered #greyrockgoals

CoffeeCantata · 25/08/2024 09:25

I'll believe it all when I see it. Meghan has 'cried wolf' with her project launches a few too many times.

The last few years are littered with her seemingly discarded or paused projects, so...

Is there anyone on here who believes that a) Meghan is an authority on cooking, gardening or maintaining genuine disinterested friendships or that b) the world wants to watch the super-rich riding their ponies to the point of exhaustion?

TeaCupSallie · 25/08/2024 10:17

Hallmark is crying out for Meghan to star in its next lot of Christmas movies. They repeat a lot of the same actresses so I’m hoping that the Duchess would get at least a 5-movie deal. She would provide so much insight into the lowly American going to a European castle for Christmas and falling in love with the Prince, only for it all to unravel by the dastardly Royal Family. My favourite one is when the Prince turns out not to be an actual blood Royal but they let him become King anyway.

That's the thing though. We don't have to wait. The world is not on standby waiting to hear about a naff cooking show or 'documentary' about a niche elitist sport. There is so much other content to enjoy, made by people who know what they are doing.

These two are not so special or so talented that they can expect to subvert the normal rules that apply in a highly competitive and fast moving industry. Quite the opposite.

TeaCupSallie · 25/08/2024 10:26

Blimey, art v reality here.

The film I mentioned is A Christmas Prince and there have been two sequels. This is the latest. And the fictional baby in the movie is called Archie.

TeaCupSallie · 25/08/2024 10:27

Could you imagine the head explosions if Meghan actually portrayed herself in a Hallmark Christmas Movie?

These films are one of my guilty pleasures while wrapping in December 🫣, so I have to correct you; the baby is not named Archie. It's a girl.

TeaCupSallie · 25/08/2024 10:49

Is the article wrong? No!!!!! I was going to scan the channels this Crimbo to watch them.

I see it from the perspective as people are watching them both everwhere. There is also a pent up frustration to see ‘something more’ from them both. It’s happening but at a pace that we don’t understand or maybe accept. When the programme/s drop people will be turning in. How many is of course the unknown.

I do hope they are successful as it’s a tough gig.

This is the actress who looks like Meghan.

People may 'tune in' out of curiosity or for a laugh. But that won't keep them watching if the content is rubbish. The IG documentary was not a ratings success. Nobody watched 'Live to Lead.'

And I had a bit of a giggle about " a pace that we don’t understand or maybe accept." Why all the cloak and dagger? Like I said, they're nobodies in a very competitive business. If they don't produce the goods, they get left behind. I would suggest they already have been.

I don’t think she will return to acting as things stand. There is the ‘at home with Meghan’ series that has been filmed and completed last month and her ARO business to get off the ground. Success in these areas needs a focussed launch so I’d have thought it means no fluffy roles for her atm 😂.

Plus of course there is Archewell.

Edited

Too many people do like her for it to not fail. I’m not laughing at her.

Some people on the net love to analyse her at the micro level and it’s both obsessive and meaningless. It shows a level of ‘monstering’ has taken place which was seeded by royal commentators and media personalities in the UK. IMHO It all reflects badly on the UK…even if there remains a denial about this for some. All sad.

Yes the article is wrong if it states the baby in the film is called Archie. It isn't, it's a girl named Alora (or Elora).

Princessfluffy · 25/08/2024 11:10

Limebiscuit "There is the ‘at home with Meghan’ series that has been filmed and completed last month"

Except it's not at her home, is it?
it's at someone else's home that has been rented specifically for this programme to be filmed at.

I doubt this show will ever even air as it seems that it has likely failed at test screenings with test audiences.

Her podcast failed and Spotify dumped them.

I'll ignore your attempt at being goady.

What’s Harry’s favourite biscuit?

That about sums up the facade - pretence and clinging onto other people's coat tails.

Any update about African Parks ?
I see ARO has lost more followers .
