This thread went a bit peculiar in the middle!
I have now watched both episodes and enjoyed it - it seemed quite well balanced and summarised a lot of complicated events quite clearly.
A few final thoughts:
Even at the time of the wedding I thought it a little strange that Meghan appeared to have no close female friends from her childhood and upbringing, certainly no one whom she wished to invite to the wedding. It shows a degree of concern for image control that does not speak well to her loyalty or indeed character. Childhood friends often know us very well indeed and yet Meghan seems to have been willing to burn bridges at multiple points in her life.
The utter lack of reaction when Charles and Kate were named as the alleged racists suggests that no one takes Harry or Meghan’s statements or accusations at all seriously any more. I have never seen a news story fizzle out faster.
As per my first post, I suspect that Meghan will leave Harry at some point (with a more desirable marriage waiting in the wings) and she may well take a leaf out of Katie Holmes’ book in using the differing state laws in the USA to execute a surprise manoeuvre.
Finally, the positive welcome that they have just received in Columbia shows that there is an appetite for whatever it is that they are offering. Meghan is still highly articulate and comes across very well on stage; Harry not so much and I think his attraction will fade very rapidly as he begins to age. Human beings have always loved ceremony and whether it’s a monarch conferring knighthoods, a mayor opening a community centre or a headteacher handing out certificates in a school assembly, most human groups have occasions where a figurehead or guest of honour is required. So perhaps there is still a role for them to play?
