Harry has destroyed evidence?

I’m surprised there hasn’t been a thread about this already. Harry has been ordered to explain why messages between himself and his ‘Spare’ ghostwriter have been destroyed. News Group Newspapers suggest that these messages might be relevant to the legal case between them.

He has also been ordered to make an interim payment of £60,000 in legal costs to NGN, as the judge ruled largely in favour of the publisher's request for a wider search for evidence

I have so many questions! How did NGN find out about these messages? What is it they are actually looking for? Can the judge force the ghost writer to produce the receipts if Harry cannot produce them?

Prince Harry ordered by judge to explain why messages 'destroyed' as he battles publisher of The Sun

Prince Harry has been ordered by a High Court judge to explain how messages between him and the ghostwriter of his memoir, Spare, came to be "destroyed".

replace surprised by “happy” and / or “relieved” and you’ll get an idea of my thoughts on the issue ie none whatsoever! 😆

We have been talking about it since yesterday on the “litigation” thread

Harry isn’t on trial and after a decade much of that communication would have just been gone.

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 29/06/2024 11:54

How do NGN know about these deleted communications though? I was thinking is it just them trying to goad him and go through all of his communications, but the fact that the judge has agreed to it and is questioning Harry is intriguing.

I’m guessing the ‘Spare’ emails are from 2020-2022, so not that long ago. I can understand the emails/communications pre 2015 being difficult to produce just because so much time has lapsed.

He's not on trial, but as one of the people who brought the case, he does have to adhere to certain regulations, among them producing the relevant documentation.

The judge seemed to agree, which is why he fined Harry and ordered him to come up with the requested files.

I think you’ll find the long-running ‘litigation’ thread interesting
