I have a photo of my Dad & my niece, taken like this. It's lovely. It's even more special as it was taken very shortly before he died unexpectedly. It's the last photo of them together.

christ knows what someone finds distasteful about it, they didn't 'turn their back' they're just facing the sea.

Exactly. It’s capturing a moment in time. They may well not have known that it was being taken. They are looking at the sea together. Much over thinking going on

I don’t care. Who would care this much if they weren’t royal? Why does anyone care about the royal family? They bring in tourism but apart from that? I just don’t get it

If you don't get it and you don't care why the hell are you wasting your time on here?

Marbledwhite · 16/06/2024 14:51

I have the feeling that AussieGirlAbroad would find any photo of the royal family distasteful.

The ones who live in UK anyway.

Distasteful

How so?

I was hoping the poster was trying to be funny but maybe not 😬

Gawd knows. Same old, same old.

Turning your back to the camera and posting it for everyone to see. I find it distasteful. No matter who they are.

Oh god give over

crumblingschools · 16/06/2024 14:52

@wordler they are sometimes standing still contemplating the view (waiting for me to catch up!)

AliceOlive · 16/06/2024 14:53

Lovely photo.

That's what was said.

Probably Snettisham or Holkham, lovely beaches though I don't recall Easter being to sunny!

Then you’ve nailed it!

What’s happened to his leg 🤔😂

IsoldeWagner · 16/06/2024 14:59

Charles paid for a lot of fireworks!
Thanks, Pa.

And the Aussies accuse the Poms of whinging when they're pretty champion at it themselves, it seems. At least from their representative on here.

I sense aggression from your comment. Anyway, my intention is pretty obvious from my original comment. Why is anyone so obsessed with the royal family? Why care about this photo more than any other random photo of someone else’s family?

AussieGirlAbroad · 16/06/2024 12:51

😂 Bums and backs, how unroyal.

Charles posts a pic of his Dad, William, a pic of his Dad. Kate should have posted a pic of her Dad.

I'm assuming Kate did post her own tribute to her father on her private social media page.

There was a glorious week in late April. Dependant on when the children's school holidays were, it could have been then.

Is it a photo of Jake the Peg perhaps???

Pippippip2024 · 16/06/2024 15:21

It’s feels quite sad, just the children and dad. I suppose because of her illness. She must have had that thought of how they would get on without her.

KP said it was taken 'last month'. So half term, perhaps.

Didn't Catherine take the photo? And it's for Father's Day. Like the one of Catherine and the children was for Mother's Day.

Pippippip2024 · 16/06/2024 15:30

It’s the feel of the photograph. They are looking ahead and she is left behind.

ThunderQween · 16/06/2024 15:35

Is it the bottoms people are finding distasteful? Seriously?
🤣

I don't know why they aren't mooning

IsoldeWagner · 16/06/2024 15:55

I think it's probably to do with who they are.

Learned a lesson from the furore about the last photo - take a group picture from behind and no need to worry about getting good facial expressions from everyone at the same time. Doesn't matter if they are blinking, frowning, wonky smiling etc.

Agree with this.

They have been decent in showing a photo. I wouldn't have done, after the last time.
