You have to admire the irony, though. "Media's unreliable so here's some links from the media proving the media's unreliable."

aclapperfullofcrap · 06/06/2024 17:57

I have no sympathy for a brother who has shown unprincipled and less than kingly decorum towards Harry.

I’m sure he’ll cope.

Meanwhile most of the world has no respect for a wailing gobshite who lets his missus drag him round her acquired countries by the baw bag.

And equally less respect for the woman who is swiftly finding out that the world is really not a stage and she doesn’t control the script the same way she controls her pet prince.

Another fat no.

"However, believe People Magazine or Meghan and Harry" 😂

Hilarious. 😂

Do ostriches actually do that?

Oooh, it turns out they don't, except to turn their eggs.

“Just saw the question above addressed to me by Dingaling.

I do not want to see them fail at all. I have watching them in a free fall and yelling “pull up! pull up!” over years now.

There is a difference between wanting someone to make major life missteps and noticing they are making those missteps.”

Thanks for that. 👌Stating your intent/motives builds a bridge for a better dialogue.

Harry and Meghan are far from perfect. I don’t think they are perfect but I like them with all their missteps, misunderstandings and grievances notwithstanding. I genuinely think they have had their successes since leaving the UK. Most of all I love H’s empathy and natural affinity with children. I was reminded of the old Harry when he was with Scotty’s and the BBC covered it last month. ☺️

Family is ultimately about unity and muddling along. Hopefully, he will start doing more forgiving regarding the perceived and actual hurtful actions by his brother. It does take two to tango and any family therapist worth their salt would tell H that he is not the only ‘victim’. (Although, the press have massively interfered in the whole sorry mess from start to finish so I understand some of his floundering and litigious actions). Mostly, I just wish he would get on a plane over the summer, embed himself on the excellently guarded estate and reconnect with his Britishness and all things family.

This is a really well balanced and thoughtful post and I completely agree with you.

We’re not going to agree on some of the stuff upthread but major respect to you here.

Vespanest · 06/06/2024 19:08

Shame Harry hasn’t got any empathy for his nephews and niece. Who are living in a media world with their mother being absolutely crucified and two men who he has personal contact with both monetising the sister he wished he had. His empathy didn’t even stretch to not mentioning the children in his own book.

I also agree. Unfortunately Harry seems to be surrounding himself with a bunch of ‘yes men and women’. He is yet to scratch the surface with whatever therapy he has had. I speak from experience when I say this. True therapy, where you can move forward necessitates laying yourself bare and owning your mistakes and part in misunderstandings and disagreements. This is painful and arduous yet the only path to peace.

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 07/06/2024 07:57

@Mummyoflittledragon

Agreed. Self reflection is flawed if the process does not involve considering how your own actions contributed to situations. No one is ever 100% right. Being able to admit that you are wrong is a strength, not a weakness.

LadyPenelopeForever · 11/06/2024 13:35

Looking forward to them further establishing their brand on a global stage. They are strong on charity and activism, have a successful income from book deals, BetterUp employment etc and a profile that is high. They are also supported by a worldwide fan base and big name celebrities.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 11/06/2024 13:39

Further establishing their brand? wouldn't it help if they actually decided on what their brand is?

They are also supported by a worldwide fan base and big name celebrities

Can you name some names here and what form that support takes? because this sounds like it's been lifted wholesale from a PR piece.

I think the idea of having to establish and maintain a personal “brand” is grim and the opposite of “authentic.”

That’s exactly what I thought. And on to a thread that has been dormant for a few days 🤔

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 11/06/2024 13:47

There used to be a poster who I'm, pretty sure was paid PR for the Sussexes - or at least was taking it upon themselves do PR for them (and very enthusiastically too). Their posts were reams of this sort of stuff.

Quite. It is fake.

DelectableMe · 11/06/2024 15:44

Harry has no affinity with children.
He would not have written and said those things about his nephews and niece were that the case.
What an awful man to have as an uncle. At least they have the Middletons and the Tindalls etc.

They like people to think this but when you look deeper into things, not so much.
Any comment yet on African Parks? No.

Dining out with people such as Dan Schneider who is a known misogynist, and racist (just watch Quiet on Set, it’s an eye opener, no wonder he was ousted from Nickelodeon and cancelled) but this doesn’t seem to bother them.
Also, Weinstein and now more recently his ex Georgina Chapman.

Preaching about climate change and then taking private jets everywhere.

I also suspect that the royalties from Spare have dried up quickly as the sales are now non-existent.

Which big name celebrities? From what I’ve seen, people are very much distancing themselves. The pap shoot that Gwyneth Paltrow set up to distance herself from the party weekend was very telling. As was the support (or lack of) for the jam.

Their fan base is dwindling to basically the Sussex Squad, and no one would want to be associated with them!

Apparently they don’t have another invite to carry on their Worldwide faux royal tour. The President of Ghana has not invited them. Nigeria was not the success that they tried to make it out to be.

Their viewing figures for Netflix have fallen off a cliff. So they are now grifting Paramount by the look of it.

Ask Lemonada how the podcasts are going….tumbleweeds.

From where I’m standing, it’s certainly not looking good.

Meghan must have been upset about not being included here….
