Hopefully I’m more giggles than shits @smilesy

Indeed! I enjoy working out the inspiration behind them 😆

I read from the Entertainment Lawyer that the couple they were out with on their wedding anniversary was Dan Schneider and his wife? Interesting choice of dinner companion if that’s the case….apparently they got a jar or jam too!

Now I admit I'm only repeating stuff from YouTube, but allegedly H & M arrived at the steak house and saw the Hollywood Bigshot and his wife already there, so Meghan asked if they could join them.

Of course I can't corroborate this, but it rings true! If so, poor Harry - he was probably expecting a romantic meal a deux...

A girl's gotta network and hustle whatever the occasion.

That explains why Harry was stuck on an adjacent table Grin I almost, only almost mind you, felt sorry for him. Such a Spare!

ArcaneWireless · 30/05/2024 17:34

Botswana love tent?

It sounds like a euphemism for something.

’Mon take a squadge at my Botswana love tent and if you are lucky, I’ll let you have a go on my kori bustards’.

You can just see him can’t you? Sat at the kiddie table, grizzling into his chicken nuggets and fries….

A lot of those 14% probably don’t know who he is or mix him up with Edward.

I doubt they've muddled him with Prince Edward, as he features separately - and for both Millennials and all adults his rating is 57%

His work with the DofE scheme probably contributes (separate 'fame' rating - ie whether they've heard of him is 95% for millennials 96% all adults; Andrew's is 985 millennials 97% all adults)

I'm in awe at those of you who can identify a name changer at fifty paces. It's a skill I've never mastered.

Even I can spot the shills though. The outsize blinkers give it away 😎🤓

CathyorClaire · 30/05/2024 20:36

And going back to the porkies - does, could anyone genuinely believe Harold's account of taking a slash in his kecks rather than relieving himself over the side of the boat he was on?

Chinny reckon 😎

ArcaneWireless · 30/05/2024 20:43

Quite cathy

A nonsense.

Why delete it?

Because unlike Twitter where you can delete your account for 30 days but then reactivate it just before the ‘30 day permanent deletion’ mark, mumsnet only offers final/immediate deletion unfortunately.

In the past I have grown depressd and anxious more than once and have found it better to get off all sm altogether, and focus on reading novels etc., and deleting it keeps me off it longer. I need some self imposed barriers in order to keep me off it long enough to feel better.

Having said that the only two sm sites I’ve that problem with is here and the Australian political side of Twitter. I’m similar with chocolate. I enjoy it, and eat too much of it when it’s in the house and it starts to cause me to feel unwell - too much sugar etc., so I don’t buy it for quite long periods and then I give in to the impulse and I go buy chocolate and eat too much of it again, until I stop buying it. Maybe one day I’ll give up both forever.

Some of you still pained that Harry and Meghan were popular in Nigeria
The UK media deliberately misinterpreted what the First Lady of Nigeria regarding Meghan in order to discredit the couple.
The Nigerian media have accused the UK media of being racist and have focused on Britain’s colonial past and the destruction and havoc the British caused in Nigeria. Some of the problems in Nigeria today are directly as a result of colonialism and the continued influence the British have in Nigeria.
The desire to retain the Commonwealth is simply because the UK is not the global power it once was and needs to align itself with other nations particularly since Brexit

The truth is that the Nigerians have proved that Harry and Meghan have global appeal.
Send them to any country in the Commonwealth and they would be popular.
The same cannot be said for any of the other royals which was proved by The Cambridges
disastrous tour of The Caribbean .

The TRUTH is that Harry and Meghan would have been a major asset to the Royal Family if it were not for the petty jealousies exhibited by other senior members of the royal family

ArcaneWireless · 31/05/2024 14:01

You know what pains me?

My life at the minute.

To suggest folk are pained by these two clowns is insulting.

They are but light relief.

And that is the TRUTH.

DelectableMe · 31/05/2024 14:05

No-one is "pained" by anything Harry and Meghan do, @Lampzade .
Read and hear their own words.
It's all very entertaining. Assets to anything much? Not really!

Thedom · 31/05/2024 14:07

The UK media deliberately misinterpreted what the First Lady of Nigeria regarding Meghan in order to discredit the couple.

It was all over SM for days before any media picked it up, in fact, the UK media downplayed it compared to how it was interpreted on SM. i think it was being discussed on MN for several days with posters asking why it hadn't hit mainstream media. You can probably search on here to confirm

The real truth is that the Nigeria trip showed that left to their own devices H&M are pretty clueless, just look at how they have inadvertently endorsed the airline of a wanted fugitive and money launderer, accepted a title from a fraudster and M dressed so inappropriately the first lady called her out in a public forum.

You can maybe convince yourself along with the Sussex squad that t was the UK media spinning the story. But the majority of the public, and not just in the UK, are calling it out for what it was and very few see it as the success the Sussex Squad are claiming it was.

DelectableMe · 31/05/2024 14:09

It's just so lazy to constantly blame the British media.
It means that Harry and Meghan, two middle aged people, cannot take any responsibility for their own actions.

MummyJ12 · 31/05/2024 14:10

Of course they were seen as
being loved and popular when everything about the visit was micromanaged and controlled by them @Lampzade. The journalist was hand picked, the favoured publication chosen, the photographer friend, they even had organised their Sussex Squad as the cheering crowd……They stayed in a Sussex bubble. Not even going to see their one public fan on the other side of that huge fence which was obviously keeping the riff raff out.

Now the aftermath of the Air Peace fugitive using their imaginary from the visit in his advertising.
The First Lady was correct in her speech. Why did Meghan come looking for Africa?

I agree with @Thedom;

You can maybe convince yourself along with the Sussex squad that t was the UK media spinning the story. But the majority of the public, and not just in the UK, are calling it out for what it was and very few see it as the success the Sussex Squad are claiming it was.

Why else would the Sussex Squad now be trolling the First Lady and her daughter? Ask yourself that…..

The Royal Family did the best thing distancing themselves from it.

ArcaneWireless · 31/05/2024 14:21

And the UK media had nothing to do with her choosing to swan about a school in a very revealing outfit.

Nor did they make her smirk during the national anthem.

The media had nothing to do with the squad trolling the First Lady or her daughter either.

For a statement they have said was nothing to do with M. Admittedly it read that way so you can see the misunderstanding.

Funny how their supporters read it the same way too.

IcedPurple · 31/05/2024 15:31

The Nigerian media have accused the UK media of being racist and have focused on Britain’s colonial past and the destruction and havoc the British caused in Nigeria.

I didn't know 'the media' speaks in one national voice.

Some of the problems in Nigeria today are directly as a result of colonialism and the continued influence the British have in Nigeria.
The desire to retain the Commonwealth is simply because the UK is not the global power it once was and needs to align itself with other nations particularly since Brexit

But these 'other nations' don't have to remain in the Commonwealth, do they? They can leave any time they wish, but hardly any of them have chosen to do so.

You must think it's wrong that private citizens visit Nigeria using titles from the 'colonial' royal family, surely?

The truth is that the Nigerians have proved that Harry and Meghan have global appeal.
Send them to any country in the Commonwealth and they would be popular.

But they didn't appear at any events open to the public, did they? So there is no way of gauging their 'appeal'.

The same cannot be said for any of the other royals which was proved by The Cambridges
disastrous tour of The Caribbean .

Didn't Harry's visit to the Caribbean attract protests several years ago?

DelectableMe · 31/05/2024 15:36

Indeed, @IcedPurple - it's common on here to make claims about "the media" (sic), no differentiation, no nuance. No critical thinking.

IcedPurple · 31/05/2024 15:36

There is no 'British media'. All manner of opinions, and political stances are represented within the wide framework of the 'British media', just as they are in any other major country.

In any case, they have lived outside of Britain for over 4 years. Why the continued fuss over the 'British media'?

Exactly my point. It's very silly to talk about "the British media" when no such thing exists!
