The royal family

Finding all the Princess of Wales conspiracy theories so odd. Am I in as much of a minority as it seems?

Perhaps I'm naive. Maybe my imagination isn't as wild as it could be ( although it is general incredibly lively), maybe ive got a realistic perspective, or maybe I've got it utterly wrong. Whichever is the case time will tell.
I'm Finding it difficult to understand why pepole would think it so inconceivable that firstly she has had surgery, rather than is having a MH crisis or divorce out they're is done other strange mystery afoot. It's apparently unimsginsble that surgery is major and takes a lot of recovery to get back to full health, a)to be potentially walking around for hours on end not feeling drained and exhausted and. b) being in the public eye wanting/ needing/ being expected to look good on return to public life.

i personally underwent abdominal surgery at the same hospital as the PoW a fortnight ago And stayed in for 6 days. Apparently many pepole in the Gi unit stay up to a fortnight two weeks on, although my cuts are tiny (keyhole), I am swollen up and currently am a similar size to I was when I was 7.5 months pregnant, covered in bruises, & in almost constant severe pain despite a cocktail of drugs and can barely move around. To say I'm exhausted would be the understatement. I normaly walk 6 miles every day and work out bit I can't ever get to the street corner150ft away and back without being crippled. I'm carrying about 7kg of extra weight in swelling. Needless to say apart from feeling grim I look deathly.
I've been given a very structured list of things I can't do for 6 weeks, very basic things - I tried as it seemed so ridiculous. Clearly its not ridiculous. Abdominal surgery can be a huge deal. I've been told 6 weeks to be able to do ordinary things like mopping the floor and hovering, carrying anything more than 4 or 5 kgs the 12 weeks to get back to my usual stamina and condition.

If i was appearing in the scrutiny of the public eye I would not be going out if I did not look back to normal and feel good. Surgery makes you feel really low and you need to feel good about yourself especially when you're going to be picked apart the world over. .

People firstly have no idea what is involved I often in major surgery. Add in having to maintain an Element of appearance for the public so asks extra time to achieve that.
They seems to be huge confusion between planned/ elective vs emergency surgery. Its always planned unless you are literally rushed in as a critical emergency. Otherwise it's classed as planned I saw my surgeon for a consultation. My op was the next day. Urgent but not an emergency, therefore planned.

Is it really that strange?..

Oh wow. Didn't realise it was so long. Sorry😵‍💫. Painkillers in action.

I'm with you. I can't understand the fever pitch this has reached. She is on leave until Easter. Simple.

Redglitter · 16/03/2024 02:27

Same here. Its not like its July & she's still not appeared. The absolute hysteria is mind boggling.

People with too much time on their hands and not enough going on in their own lives.

Some of the theories are disgusting.

IAmThe1AndOnly · 16/03/2024 02:27

No it’s not just you. Some people are obsessed to the degree they IMO need professional help.

FlibbertyGibbertyFlibberty · 16/03/2024 02:43

I’m with you. People have gone completely mad.

Helen Lewis had a good article in The Atlantic calling the frenzy “q-anon for wine moms” and that seems apt to me. The whole thing has been genuinely unsettling to watch.

upinaballoon · 16/03/2024 03:11

I'm with you. As I understand it, things have to heal inside, whatever she's had done, and that might take time, plenty of time. I did too much too soon on a bunion op and wished later that I'd taken it a bit easier, and that was nowhere near my abdominal works. Also, if it hurt, I could just take a rest. They COULD no doubt say that they can't cope with an engagement if it were too wearying, and go and sit in a back room but they don't. They keep awake and cheery and chatty for the duration of the visit, as far as I can see.
There has been so much nastiness in some of the posts that the complete furore has sometimes bordered on evil.

Flatandhappy · 16/03/2024 03:18

I agree. I don’t live in the UK but I find the hysteria totally baffling. The woman had major surgery, nobody needs to know the details of her private medical affairs, the information was given that she would be out of action for a time period we are still in. A lot of people really must have nothing in their lives if they are getting so invested in this.

Northernsouloldies · 16/03/2024 03:28

As I said in another thread, even though she's a royal she's still a person with the same frailties as the rest of us.the crackpot theories are absurd.leave the woman alone.

PleaseenterausernameX · 16/03/2024 03:28

I live in the UK and don't see hysteria except online and the Daily Mail are trying to whip things up as usual but in real life ... nothing. People just respect that she needs time and privacy to recover.

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 16/03/2024 06:10

It is ridiculous and they should leave her alone. The most recent thing that was said is that Williams friend who he was meant to have had an affair with his pregnant by him and Kate has had a breakdown.
Hope she is ok as she was so thin recently and was not like that before entered the royal family. Would not want that life as under immense scrutiny all the time.

Donotgogentle · 16/03/2024 06:16

I’m the opposite op.

i’m not particularly interested in the RF and don’t follow conspiracy theories but things do seem a bit . . . odd.

I’m not surprised people are speculating.

Brexile · 16/03/2024 06:21

I think you're right. I hope you feel better soon.

Roselilly36 · 16/03/2024 06:32

I think it’s odd, I have to say, something just doesn’t feel right, for so many reasons.

CwmYoy · 16/03/2024 06:33

Never underestimate the stupidity of the general public.

Bumblebeeinatree · 16/03/2024 06:35

People have too much time on their hands if they can spend it making up wilder and wilder stories.

And who cares if she tweaked a family picture a bit to improve it, getting three kids to all look presentable at once is a challenge and if she's not looking perfect currently why not fix it up a bit. It was an amateur, family portrait, mother's day photo not some important state occasion being mis-represented.

DodgeDoggie · 16/03/2024 06:38

all the gossip is so annoying, give the poor woman some space and time.

A bit odd? So you've no evidence?
Isn't it possible that a woman has had major surgery and wants privacy to recover?.

IsoldeWagner · 16/03/2024 06:42

I agree with you OP, and the lack of critical thinking is frightening. An expression in a car taken at a distance means a divorce? A family picture photoshopped means that she's a victim of domestic violence or in a coma? I'm not even on SM , I'm just reading this nonsense on here. There's no evidence, nothing substantiated and it's cruel. These are people's lives.

Rosiiee · 16/03/2024 06:43

Meg and Harry will probably produce a Netflix doc on ‘the missing princess’ soon. They’ve got to be low on funds….

But I honestly didn’t think much of it until the whole Mother’s Day photo fiasco.

Birmingbacon · 16/03/2024 06:45

Totally agree with you.

Why are you bringing them into this? They have nothing to do with this mess. They don't live here.

Fulshaw · 16/03/2024 06:49

On a couple of threads, I’ve posted along the lines of ‘Why is it so hard to believe that she’s had surgery and is recovering?’ and been completely ignored.

I assume it’s because they can’t answer such a sensible question. Or don’t want to.

Sundaygettingreadyfortheweek · 16/03/2024 06:51

It’s certain sectors of the media and a few crazies on line.

Riapia · 16/03/2024 06:54

People prefer any explanation, however far fetched, than no explanation at all.
