Maybe my name is a reference to Anastasia Romanova, the missing princess from the Romano dynasty who is believed to have escaped during her families execution. Consider that! Or would you prefer me to change my username to missing tsarina????

But it isn’t though is it 😂 you’ve pulled that out your arse because you know full well you’re utterly ridiculous

Did he add, '.... and I'm the crafty one' under his breath with a dastardly eyebrow dance?

If it didn't happen, it should have.

But it's more likely that he is signalling, 'Nothing to see here folks, all is as normal as normal can be.'

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Assuming it’s a dig is assuming there’s something wrong with being arty or a woman being arty.

I am not arty or creative at all. I have great admiration for people who are creative or arty. I wouldn’t see being arty as a dig at all.

Can you explain why you think it would be a dig?

A dig because of her artistic photoshopping of her & her children for mothers day

Jesus wept!

That’s a stretch even the most advanced Yogis would struggle with.

Bambarr · 15/03/2024 10:25

Neither can do right for wrong. I think he has gaff-ititus like his late grandad.

AsTheyPulledYouOutOfTheOxygenTent · 15/03/2024 10:49

I strongly suspect that every single member of the royal family says "oh I'm rubbish at cake decorating/brick laying/wheelchair rugby/tree planting/helicopter piloting, my wife/husband/son/father is the expert in the family, please excuse my feeble efforts" so constantly as entry level banter in these kinds of events that they don't even register what they've said.

MorningSunshineSparkles · 15/03/2024 11:24

I’m genuinely worried about the mental health of some posters that start these threads.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 15/03/2024 12:16

Doesn't she have a degree in Art History? She is the arty one. I don't think it's a dig at all.

Mumsnut · 15/03/2024 12:44

I seem to remember that Kate water-coloured a rather sweet and good picture of the church Pippa married in for the back of the order of service.

Mumsnut · 15/03/2024 12:44

Can’t link but a quick Google will take you there

Overtheatlantic · 15/03/2024 12:49

He’s just being self-deprecating which he’s expected to be being a Prince and all.

Yes exactly. It's just words to fill the space, make others at ease and appear self deprecating whilst praising others. William also was quite self deprecating about his cooking skills In their engagement interview years ago. He also has said that Kate always looks stunning when someone said how great she looked. I really don't think you can read too much into his recent comment.

GreekDogRescue · 15/03/2024 13:54

The Windsor men are not known for their chivalry!

Karatema · 15/03/2024 14:53

My DH would say this about me! He's not having a dig, it's a natural thing to say.

This picking apart a photo, who did what, when, what secret meaning does his comment have, is all getting out of hand. A man acknowledged something his wife is better at than him, how very dare he.

Itsonlymashadow · 15/03/2024 07:45

Anastasia isn’t missing. And she isn’t believed to have escaped though.

Yes DNA testing proved she died in the cellar with the rest of her family. Very tragic for a whole family to be wiped out like that.

ZebraD · 15/03/2024 16:05

I would say get a grip! What a ridiculous question!

itsgettingweird · 15/03/2024 16:08

He was doing art.

Clearly badly. And expressed how Kate is the arty one. Probably to excuse his bad attempts.

Wouldn't we all do that? My ds is the sporty one - if we have to do anything active I would always say "ds is the athlete in our family" 🤷‍♀️

He took the photograph for mothers day. Then Kate came out taking the responsibility of the editing. Surely he could have taken the flack for it..
It was obviously neither of them that did the editing that would be prs job but I think he was having a mean dig there.

You think, you don’t know that your just guessing

He's not always so charming... At at event coincidentally taking place at Rose's he says he's "so skinny because or Kate's cooking".....

The clue there to the way the remark is meant to be taken is the word “joke”. Which it clearly is, after Kate’s jokey remark about him putting up with her cooking. It’s called “having a sense of humour”. Seems to be sadly lacking around here these days

Don't know the context but that's awful lol 😂

Never understood why people have always thought William could do no wrong as opposed to Harry..

Look at the context then. It was a joke prompted by what Kate said. Context is important 🙄

Missingprincess · 15/03/2024 18:12

Well a joke at Kate's expense at the home of his alleged mistress.. I wouldn't be laughing.

Kate made the joke about her own cooking. He just added on. It's called humor. In healthy relationships people can joke with each other.
