I visited Bamburgh Castle for no other reason but to shout "Uthred, son of Uthred!" from the ramparts. This is why my family won't go anywhere with me
I'm a history fan (as you probably gathered from me spotting the Thor's hammer) and read history and English at university. Even before that, but especially after, family banned me from watching historical dramas and films with them because, and I quote, 'you tut all the time and say 'that's wrong.' And I still do. And mutter 'rubbish.' And make notes in margins of books. Sometimes quite irate notes.
I don't think I've ever shouted from ramparts, though. I might give that a whirl, especially if there's a howling gale and I can shout defiantly into the wind.
