… from Mountbatten-Windsor to ‘Sussex’.
Apparently it’s to strengthen their brand.

Personally I think there's too much laughing going on altogether. I've seen some of it today. Not on.

I agree. There's entirely TOO MUCH joy and happiness going on!

I saw a picture of Meghan kneeling and laughing beside a woman in a wheelchair. Can you believe she was laughing AT the disabled veteran and had the NERVE to bend down beside her?

skullbabe · 16/02/2024 17:19

And no doubt if they had expressed discomfort they would have been told not to take themselves so seriously, it was just a bit of a laugh

So right. Hopefully everyone who was laughing and smiling watching the athletes on the slope have got the memo.

Yes, that's how microaggressions against minorities work - peer pressure to accept them

PrincessWildernessOfWherever · 16/02/2024 17:21

In the same way that everyone else present when Harry called his colleague a P* laughed along, and didn't feel able to challenge him.

skullbabe · 16/02/2024 17:25

I saw a picture of Meghan kneeling and laughing beside a woman in a wheelchair.

She was kneeling, laughing and looking at the camera gesticulating whilst wearing a ring. Please get it right. Honestly - she’s amazing in the way that she can choose the pictures of her from the multitude of pictures and images that are taken that get published by the media.

Propertylover · 16/02/2024 17:25

This thread has wandered off topic but honestly Meghan can’t win. I’m not a fan of M but this is very unfair criticism to say it was inappropriate.

H was trying out an adapted ski, she took a photo like so many of us would in that situation. The group she was with were laughing and smiling and so was M. I would have done the same.

This is not like the previous situations a poster provided.

Totally agree. But you might have to revise your understanding of microaggressions.

Perhaps she should aspire to be more like Camilla , our Queen, who spent her time shagging a married man behind her husbands back or perhaps be more like Charles who was shagging a married woman behind his wife's back oh and also wanting to be her tampax

Can people drop the “wanted to be her Tampax” thing because it’s not what he said at all?!

He’s done and said enough stuff over the years to give people ammunition without deliberate mis-quoting of that particular conversation

“Charles replies: “Or, God forbid, a Tampax. Just my luck! My luck to be chucked down a lavatory and go on and on forever swirling round on the top, never going down.”” Zero wish to be tampax expressed…

mrsmingleton · 16/02/2024 17:29

After all an adapted ski is such a novel and unusual thing - no one could possibly imagine what it would have looked like. It's so rare H has to sit in it to show the children.🙄

PrincessWildernessOfWherever · 16/02/2024 17:30

Just as we need to listen to POC when they detect a racist microaggression, I think we also need to people living with disabilities when they say it is uncomfortable watching an able-bodied person using a piece of equipment (as a toy) that is designed for people with disabilities to participate in an activity.

PrincessWildernessOfWherever · 16/02/2024 17:31

sorry to listen to

PrincessWildernessOfWherever · 16/02/2024 17:31

Quite the opposite, from the way I read it?

I absolutely agree.

There are none so blind as those who can't - or won't - see.

Meghan Markle knows EXACTLY where the camera is, she knows exactly which photos will attract attention, she knows exactly what she's doing when there are cameras present. She's no ingenue. I'm sure you'll find a saccharine reply to this so nothing more from me.

mrsmingleton · 16/02/2024 17:49

@Raincloudsonasunnyday you are right about M. On the first day footage her eyes are darting at the camera the whole time. The second day she seems unable to walk without fear of slipping.

Would one of them be about when Catherine was coughing and Meghan was with Harry which became about Meghan laughing at the horseman

@YetMoreNewBeginnings Well fortunately you don't get to dictate what people want you to discuss. No " deliberate" misquoting either

Could you let us know which bit you are referring to? That link is 12 1/2 minutes long

Of topic but what do you think of able bodied people playing wheelchair rugby?

skullbabe · 16/02/2024 17:59

Absolutely -she knows exactly which camera and which photographer on any given day will be published in all media at all times. You have to hand it to her.

PrincessWildernessOfWherever · 16/02/2024 17:59

It isn't for me to say anything, as I don't have a disability

Serenster · 16/02/2024 18:00

Able bodied people do play wheelchair quite regularly though. You don’t have to be disabled to play (it’s that rare thing, a genuinely inclusive sport), so it’s not unusual at all.

Or do you have another reason for asking…?

Apologies - did clip it however have a look from minute 1000.

I think Samcro was asking because of the above.
