Funny how this is bad news for Harry rather than an embarrassment for Kate.

Bad bad bad if Harry and Meghan do anything on TV or use their actual royal connections / titles to do anything. Absolutely fine if husbands of a Windsor or an uncle go on reality TV.

What an odd headline

SingingSands · 29/01/2024 12:27

That headline is ridiculous and requires some mental gymnastics to get to the point... which is... I'm not sure? 🤷🏻‍♀️

jeffgoldblum · 29/01/2024 12:27

It's the mirror! 🤷‍♀️ enough said really.

kirinm · 29/01/2024 12:29

Apparently her uncle has said he would write a book about Harry / to challenge whatever he wrote. I find the mirror website impossible to view and found the headline on twitter.

Stupid headline.

Also how the hell is he a celebrity

CoffeeCantata · 29/01/2024 13:37

I'm not sure I understand your point, OP.

Are you suggesting that the RF (esp Catherine and William) have had anything to do with this? I'd be amazed... they're probably absolutely horrified.

I wouldn't blame Meghan if her Dad (who I feel sorry for ) and her half-siblings (whom I don't) went on some reality TV. It wouldn't be her doing, I'm sure.

Everyone's got an embarrassing relation, even the RF (look at Andrew) and the more famous you are the more embarrassing it is.

Sounds like a sure-fire best seller 🙃

I've watched BB from the get-go and am confidently predicting an overpaid and under-delivering performance from Uncle Gaz.

goodbyestranger · 29/01/2024 21:34

No subject off limits? Hope someone will challenge him on his conviction for beating up his wife.

jeffgoldblum · 29/01/2024 22:00

Ahh so are we blaming all relatives for other's behaviour?

goodbyestranger · 29/01/2024 22:07

jeff if you're responding to me I'm merely pointing out the the 'Middleton magic' which the Daily mail referred to in a creepy piece a week or so ago has also produced a wife beater.

jeffgoldblum · 29/01/2024 22:08

But if we are tarring all with the same brush it's going to get messy!!

goodbyestranger · 29/01/2024 22:09

Except that I'm not tarring the younger generation of the Middletons.

goodbyestranger · 29/01/2024 22:10

Presumably something in his background influenced Gary to be violent though.

WinnieTheW0rm · 30/01/2024 13:19

I think this means that Gary (who has not done a 'tell all' on Catherine or any other of the Middletons) is not planning one now either.

But considers H&M fair game, based on what they've put in to the public domain about 3rd parties.

What I'm not clear about at all is whether "his truth" on them will bear any relationship to verifiable events. And whether levels of acceptability of such individual "truth" will vary, depending on whose truth is it anyway

Angrycat2768 · 31/01/2024 07:35

What does he know about Harry snd Meghan? Family gossip from his sister? As if the Royals have no influence over the Middletons, and can't put pressure on him not to do it? What's he going to say ? 'My niece isn't racist? She likes hugging?' The man has an extremely shady history. I ender if he'll be 'telling the truth' about that? And yes he's not a celebrity.

Samcro · 31/01/2024 08:22

does he need money?

LolaSmiles · 31/01/2024 12:34

He's not a celebrity and if it's true, it's a bit embarrassing to try to make yourself famous because of who a relative married.

Not sure why it's a problem for Harry and Meghan though.
It's a bigger problem for Kate, William and their families if he's trying to make a name for himself by stirring things up.

WinnieTheW0rm · 31/01/2024 12:41

Agree that he doesn't have any good sources.

But all he needs to use is a phrase such as "my understanding is that...." and it will be interpreted as well-founded, especially by those who don't realise that he's v low to no contact with most/all the family. Hell, he could even be the "source close to the Middleton family" that one tabloid was quoting as being "surprised" at the hospital admission because they had no idea anything was up.

It's going to be "his truth" rather than verifiable substance, but it's quite likely no-one's going to challenge and weaknesses/gaps on air (even if they're blatantly obvious to even a moderately well-informed member of the British public)

Uncle Gary is close to his sister and niece. Trust me, he wouldn’t appear on CBB without their consent

pilates · 01/02/2024 08:15

It’s the Mirror enough said.

The headline is ridiculous. I bet Kate is embarrassed

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 04/02/2024 19:46

Isn’t this the third or fourth time he’s been tipped to join a reality show?

pilates · 05/02/2024 05:50

Yes
