Why did camilla stay in car?

I think I missed the official explanation. So can anyone explain why camilla stayed in the car while Charles did an official visit in Kenya?
Was she unwell?

Having a smoke?

Was it very hot?

She is not young.

The photo of her in the car does not show her smoking. Just sitting there.

They've said before she's often unwell with travel.

I've always thought she has COPD from all the smoking.

She always looks exhausted if she has a full day if visits un the UK

Would she be allowed to smoke in the car? Surely it is the chauffeur’s place of work?

She is 76 years old. She may well live in the lap of luxury but that doesn't stop the effects of old age. No one wants a royal dropping down dead on an overseas trip, the paperwork would be horrific! If she needs a break, why wouldn't she take one?

I've read on this board that the RF are exempt from health and safety laws. Surely Camilla is considerate enough to not smoke in the car...

This made me think of my 12 year old DD who does stay in the car sometimes when we go on errands etc - headphones on and doing her best to ignore everyone. She's obviously not an adult representing the country and being paid handsomely to do so.

Wonder what the hosts thought about it.

Having looked a bit at this she did get out of the car and accompanied Charles. For whatever reason she was sitting in the front seat as there is a video and think this was snapped just as she was getting ready to get out of the car. It's only showing on a couple of sites one of which is "celebitchy".

Camilla gave up smoking before she married Charles, because he hates it. I suppose she might sneak an odd one here and there, but unlikely to be doing it when cameras are about.

I just Googled myself & yes, it only seems to be on Celebitchy and TikTok.

Probably been on the gin like the queen mother used to be !

Presumably she paused briefly - perhaps to check her WhatsApp notifications before getting out of the car - and was photographed.

Maybe only the King was invited.

Maybe she was hot and needing a rest.

Local newspaper Nation Africa captioned the photo, "Queen Camilla waits inside a car when she and King Charles visited Uhuru Gardens." According to Geo. News ( the story was printed there too).

So, possibly the people at home aren’t seeing these images in their daily news but the people of Africa, and Pakistan (geo news), at least, are.

But the ‘angry’ image of Camilla in a car is a good example of one image of a person - one camera click - taking on a meaning that it might never have had. They used to do this with the late Queen looking ‘disapproving’ when she likely wasn’t. And recently, images of Kate and William looking ‘angry’ with each other when they likely weren’t, and Harry looking ‘bored’ while Meghan looks happy - he likely wasn’t ‘bored’ but it’s a tiny moment in time when he wasn’t smiling.

But unfortunately Camilla staying in the car is not a good look. I understand she’s probably not well/in pain/exhausted but perhaps she needs to stay at home in future. Or do less visiting while on tours and stay in the official residence when tired, not wait in the car. They need an alternative plan.

Was she in the front of the car? Maybe she gets carsick? I get it terribly.... sometimes I need to just be still after a journey or I would throw up everywhere.
