American press dragging the UK press.
And as one commenter said, this week UK press are outraged that, while being interviewed at Invictus winter training camp, Harry spoke about his dad. Yet, only days before the UK media were outraged that, at the Football award ceremony, Harry did not mention his dad at all.
And the day before the football award ceremony that same UK media were outraged that Harry briefly visited his father. But in the days leading up to that visit, they had been busy publishing articles that indicated Harry should return to ‘help out’ his Dad.
Thanks @ALittleTeawithmilk , I think it's really significant that the US press is taking up Harry and Meghan's big causes like Invictus in a bigger way than ever before, as they clearly have the audience for it.
ABC News' Good Morning America is the biggest breakfast show in the US, miles ahead of the second biggest. It's a HUGE coup for Harry/Invictus to secure their support, and as far as I can tell from looking at ABC News' coverage of all things Harry and Meghan, it's the most normal - ie mostly positive. Ditto with People.
It's been said before on these boards - Harry and Meghan are withstanding the unrelenting agenda-driven attacks by the vast majority of the servile and venal British media, are still succeeding in doing the philanthropy work they love, and are still finding influential partners and supportive sponsors to do it with, from ABC News' GMA to Boeing to Netflix to the various organisations giving them all sorts of awards.
And many ordinary people in the US seem to just love them - vets, sports people from the NFL to Formula One, beneficiaries of the non-profits they champion... I enjoyed the reaction of the guy who got an award from Harry at the NFL Honours - he was totally star struck!
see below (courtesy of.... ABC News)
"Harry, the Duke of Sussex, was a special guest at Thursday's NFL Honors, presenting the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award to Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward
"Man, Prince-freaking-Harry. Man, I'm in shock. That's Prince Harry," Heyward said after receiving the award from Harry."
The time will come when the British media realise they are just embarrassing themselves and making Britain look to the outside world like a nation of angry, sour-grapes, incoherent, mud-rackers. Fortunately, not everyone in Britain buys into the constant bad-mouthing and negativity!
