And as for models being gazelles, Kate Moss broke that mould.
Firstly, Kate Moss was still 5’7. Other well- known models that height (Lily Rose Depp, Georgia May Jagger) clearly had doors opened to them via nepotism, not because the entry criteria of 5’9 had been swept away. And a handful of shorter models on the catwalk in the literal hundreds and hundreds of tall models over the last forty years doesn’t sound too much like the mould has been broken, rather that there are limited exceptions made for models who have something else to recommend them. (Which might be an iconic look that fits the zeitgeist, or might be famous parents…).
None of this remotely suggests that shorter than Kate Moss, very attractive but not previously striking as a model, and 40-plus Meghan Markle is likely to be offered a gig as s fashion model for Dior any time soon. Far more likely for other brands which have committed to more diverse casting for their fashion shows, but Dior’s not one of them Dior didn’t even gave black models on its runway until 2013, and if you look at its recent shows its models are all 5’9 and above.
(none of this is ANY reflection on Meghan, it’s just for Dior to use her as a fashion model would require a real change of approach from them).
