The sudden unusual turn on Princess Kate

Today, I wanted to share something thought-provoking that has caught my attention recently - a noticeable change in the way the media portrays Kate Middleton.

Some publications that previously showed favor towards Kate (DM cough, cough) have started publishing stories that present her in a more critical light. It's an interesting shift.

Firstly, there's a story circulating about an encounter between Kate and a convicted murderer at a charity event. Additionally, there's talk of the taxpayer potentially providing support for her family's struggling business. This raises questions about the circumstances surrounding their business venture and the implications it may have for public funds.

What's intriguing is the parallel being drawn between Kate's current media treatment and the scrutiny faced by Meghan Markle in the past. It's worth discussing whether there's a connection or simply a coincidence.

Furthermore, there's some buzz on Twitter suggesting that Kate may have unintentionally upstaged the King during the Chelsea Flower Show. While it may seem like harmless gossip, it's interesting to consider the impact of such events on the monarchy's reputation. Some even speculate that Camilla might have been involved in the leak of these stories, adding an extra layer to the intrigue.

Taking a step back, it's worth pondering whether the monarchy should be concerned about being upstaged in this day and age. Are we witnessing a shift in priorities and expectations?

What does it matter if it was her uncle or parents who paid her fees? They were not paid by the British taxpayer or lucky dip Lotto.

Roussette · 15/06/2023 14:31

Children certainly are a leveller!

I used their stuff for a few parties when the kids were younger . When you add plates, bunting, cups, napkins, dishes, cake toppers etc it would add up to about a bill of 150/200 pounds

Blimey
Was it better quality than supermarket stuff?

queentim · 15/06/2023 21:36

Yup lots more negative coverage of Kate, it was never not expected to happen though

justasking111 · 15/06/2023 22:32

The media I swear have a roulette wheel to decide which royal, politician, celebrity is in the firing line next to sell their paper

Interesting article from the express, which sounds a PR piece

William loves the Middletons

I wonder why they're bringing Will into this? A warning to stop talking about Party Pieces?

Weird kind of puff piece, isn't it? All built around an asinine quote from a 12 year old documentary. Not very subtle.

It is alleged the Middletown's were never as financially successful as claimed.

'alleged', 'claimed'............i.e. 'no idea but if it's said often enough it becomes troo fact'.

It was alleged that the royal family were injecting a lot of money into their business. The latest turn of events proves that was a load of rubbish.

allabouttheboy · 17/06/2023 01:49

I said never. That includes before Kate married. As the accounts were not public no one knows how much profit it really made.

tigger2022 · 17/06/2023 06:08

They put 3 kids through private school so it must have had some success!

allabouttheboy · 17/06/2023 09:57

It had some success. We don't know if party pieces paid for private school though.
Someone down thread say similar businesses make about £150k a year. A decent living. But not enough to support the Middletown's lifestyle.

It’s impossible to know where people make their money (if they have it). Plenty of people make more money from investments outside of their known occupation.

Spoke with a retired teacher who always had a moving business on side. He told me he just yesterday that he also had 17 rental properties which he sold when he retired. We always wondered how he afforded a beach house on a teachers income.

allabouttheboy · 18/06/2023 01:39

Investments are for people with money to invest.
But I do know how friends have made money. They talk about it.

AliceOlive · 18/06/2023 21:47

Obviously if a friend tells you something, then you know it. 🤣

Phoebo · 19/06/2023 10:23

Conspiracy theorists would think that maybe there is a point to H&M being in the headlines, because it does then have the effect of taking the 'heat' off everyone else 🤔

Did Kate ever accomplish any thing before she got married? Since she's been married has she? Other than dress up and go out to be photographed.

(tw: this post contains references to women having jobs and not being defined by their husbands and so may be traumatic to some)

Camilla was a secretary and receptionist, she then raised 2 children. She is now patron/president of over 100 charities.

Kate has an MA in Art History from St Andrews. She worked at Jigsaw, she worked as an art curator, and she worked for her parents’ business.

Sophie was an extremely successful PR agent, and ran her own agency.

Sarah Ferguson worked in an art gallery and in PR, and is now a published author and has a podcast.

Diana was a nanny and nursery assistant.

Meghan was an actress and model, her big break being the TV series Suits.

Good grief! 9 months working as an accessories buyer for Jigsaw for 9 months is a career?

No

Sarah (and I wish her well on her journey with breast cancer) published nearly 70 books under her title duchess of York.

Camilla, just no! There is evidence she worked few months at something, was a debutante and got the sack

Sophie no idea, she buggered up talking about politicians, the government and whatever, low profile since

Not traumatic. Just an insult to hard-working women

Serenster · 26/06/2023 21:43

She had to leave because of press harassment. Because she was put through the wringer by the vultures at the height of their untouchability.

I hate press harassment

She took on the job for 3 days a week to enable her to be William's girlfriend

Whatever she did, and press harassment taken into account, please don't let us call it a career

Serenster · 26/06/2023 21:54

And? Is someone prioritising a relationship a bad thing?

WinnieTheW0rm · 26/06/2023 22:21

Well we all know now just what lengths the press were going to in those days, using intrusive measures against her.

I'm not surprised she could not have had a 'normal' job at that time.
