I was a bit surprised at the state of The Mall after the coronation. I know after Glastonbury, the fans leave it trashed but this was worse. During the interviews a lot of them were talking about patriotism but surely if you love your country, you treat it with respect and take your litter home. It was an older crowd as well.

Agreed. It was a mess , I walked down it around 5pm, it did look like Glastonbury!
although there were no bibs for security reasons so I guess could have looked worse!

Bins not bibs

Not sure what you have expected. Crowds of that size are bound to cause a mess and for obvious reasons no bins were available.

Many claim to be patriotic whose behaviour is disgraceful. Hence why I hide my being from these shores when on holiday abroad, as much as I can.

They got their tents and chairs and bags of food there themselves - they can carry it home again, and re-use, donate, recycle or dispose of appropriately.

To take their rubbish home instead of being slobs.

Whilst there , saw loads of people walking up and down picking litter. And vans shifting old tents etc
This was at about 10am so ceremony hadn't even started.
Walking back through Hyde park the following morning except for the signs and railings left it was spotless.

Quite right. You don't want Spanish people to think you've dropped your juicy fruit packet on the Mall.

I expect the experienced camping out lot know that there's no way they can get it all packed away and carried with them when there's the rush and excitement of crowding down the mall for the balcony and fly past. Although it's like festivals, the tents and equipment left afterwards is shocking. Apparently no one can be arsed to pack the stuff away and it's left to an army of volunteers to clear away.
