Unlike any other event I notice people like Tim Taylor - lady Helen Taylor’s husband , Gabriella or Frederick Windsor spouses weren’t there so all not invited to the coronation but Carrie Johnson was . Anyone know why that would be ?

I think they were tight for numbers and lots of people were not invited who you would have thought would be. It’s like a wedding - it is always a minefield.

Maybe they had a certain number for each of family, politicians, heads of other states, charity workers and celebrities and the family section just wasn’t enough to include those spouses. Perhaps as Camilla’s family is a whole other group that needed to be included.

The government decide most of the invites as its a state occasion. Which means that there's a limited number for family and friends. Also, between them there are 10 Kent/Gloucester cousins in that generation. It's not like adding 1 extra person.

Kate and William's wedding in 2011, had similar numbers, but they didn't have to invite representatives from almost every country in the world, which made more room to invite people of their own choice.

I was thinking along the same lines, it was a state occasion rather than a family one?

Norma Major did not appear to be there, so perhaps there's a cut-off time after which ex-PMs no longer get a plus-1 at space limited events.

(I'd have happily cut all ex-PMs tbh)

Norma Major is ill.

Norma Major was ill apparently. They explained that when we saw the first group of ex PMs (plus ones) going in.

And Cherie Blair gave a big hug.
