What would Harry’s role in the Coronation have been?

I was wondering if Harry was a working Royal what would his role in the Coronation have been (of course that means he didn’t go to the US etc) would he and Meghan walked behind Kate and William?

I was wondering the same. It seemed so sad today. I have two sons and can't imagine not having them both there with their future families on special occasion.

UnsureSchool32 · 06/05/2023 23:10

I just wondered how it might have all panned out, I imagine Harry dressed up the same and swearing his allegiance to his father? In whatever way he can/could I feel Charles treated the boys the same.

He's living the life he wants though, under his own terms - what's the point of thinking "what if?" if it's not what he wanted for himself?

changednametorespond · 06/05/2023 23:37

Harry's a dick. He moans about EVERYTHING. He stuck the knife in his brother's back knowing he wouldn't be able to reply. Harry looked very much alone. I mean who would chat to him in private! It would be his truth in a book in months. Not to be trusted ever again.

He’d have walked behind William.

outfits wise would have depended if he had been invested into the order of the garter or not. If he had he’d have worn the cloak.

His actual role beyond that would have depended - it’s entirely possible it would still have been only William that pledged allegiance, but the two sons could have been a possibility whilst still cutting down the numbers.

When we first switched on he stood out literally because all I could see was a really sad face a couple of rows back. Must have been tough being there with no one in his corner

supersop60 · 06/05/2023 23:46

Probably no role in particular, but he may have worn ceremonial robes and sat in the front row. William had to swear an oath as heir.

I don’t think I would ever forgive my brother if he did world wide interviews and wrote a book bitching about our family. Harry deserves to be a outcast.

Sad?
Just shows how we all see into things differently..
I didnt see sadness at all.
He came on his own terms, to see his Dad coronated, and then went back home afterwards to his son's birthday.
Best of both worlds without being trapped.

He stuck up for himself with all the shit put out there about him.
knowing he wouldn't be able to reply
Does not that hit at all?!!
So he has to shut up always regardless of what people say

Does he even know who said what about him? He's saying it was the press now. I heard rumours he once blamed Susan the Corgi. That was in his talking bin era, though.

I was referring to his autobiography where he explained his feelings in there

I don't think it even matters. The fact is that Harry is 5th in line for the throne and it was insane he was chucked into the 3rd row behind Anne's hat. They can't have it both ways. And don't get me started on the ridiculous photos from the balcony when Charles could have finally made it more inclusive and just...didn't

How could it have been ‘more inclusive’?

EconomyClassRockstar · 07/05/2023 01:07

Charles literally reminds me of that scene in the movie version of Moulin Rouge when The Duke pulls out a gun and screams, "My way, MY WAY!"

tobee · 07/05/2023 01:07

"He came on his own terms, to see his Dad coronated, and then went back home afterwards to his son's birthday."

The word is crowned.

EconomyClassRockstar · 07/05/2023 01:08

He could had have his actual real life family next to him instead of a bunch of kids, for a start!

Don’t do shitty things that he can bitch about and you’ll be ok.

He did. He had all working members of his family, including uncles and aunts, on the balcony with him. And his pages included family members of his grandson and his cousins grandson. And interestingly, the son of Rose Hanbury.

But if the brother's imagination is a strong as Harry's, the truth will be no defence.

Premiumbondbaby · 07/05/2023 01:36

I think Harry would have been made a member of the order of the garter and worn the regalia like William. He would have been in the procession entering the Abbey, possibly had a part in the ceremony in terms of holding one of the swords or sceptres etc. and sworn allegiance to the King.
He would have been in the procession out of the Abbey and in a coach back to BP and on the balcony.

I am not convinced Meghan would have been made CVO, so she may not have had the regalia, but again she would be in both processions and a coach. Archie and Lilibet would join her and PH on the balcony. I think M not having the regalia would have been a big issue for H & M.

Pixiedust1234 · 07/05/2023 01:38

I doubt he would have had a role as only William and Anne did anything. The others just sat and watched. And Anne's role was only in the end procession, not the beginning or in the abbey.

VivienneDelacroix · 07/05/2023 01:43

He wouldn't have had a role. William is PofW, even the DofE didn't get a "role".
I thought he looked happy and relaxed. His cousins seemed perfectly happy to be with him, as did their husbands and they were chatting away. I'm sure it wasn't a completely happy occasion for him and there were probably pangs of what might have been, but he seemed fine.

Guavafish1 · 07/05/2023 01:46

I'm sure everyone is fine with the situation. Harry was there to support the King.

You think the others tell the truth? 😏
