The school fees I pay include those of an ex-colleague's children. Her husband tried to break up a fight in a shebeen (unlicensed drinking establishment) and one of the people fighting broke a bottle and attacked my colleague's husband. The broken bottle severed his artery and he bled to death before the ambulance reached him, let alone got him to hospital.

She couldn't afford to pay the rent and keep the family together, so the children went to different family members. She has the children with her in her shack at weekends and holidays.

Their education is the way out of poverty.

You still have not answered my question @Xenia about why Thomas, who does not see his 5 other grandchildren, now wants a relationship with Meghan's children. Again I ask, is it because these two, and not the other five, are in the Line of Succession? I also ask further: why, if Thomas wants to see his grandchildren, is he aligning himself with his two older children, both of whom have spread conspiracy theories about those same children not "existing"?

Just had a chat with DD, and asked if I could do anything more to promote her heritage. She nearly died of laughing.

I explained why I asked. She said that perhaps @tatalan has known someone where the adoptive parent has tried to eradicate the child's history. Sadly that does happen.

But DD is happy with her regular contact with her sister, cousin, godmothers etc, that I am more than happy to get her foodstuffs and clothing etc from her community of origin, that we talk freely about race, discuss what it 'is' and means, talk about the impact of race and colonisation on her birth family, and how that contributed to their failure to care for her etc

She has asked me to assure @tatalan that she isn't suffering 😂 but thinks that she benefits from her lived experience of two very different communities, without having to choose between them.

And I can assure you that DD (aged 16) is very able to voice her opinions 😂including criticising me (for making her tidy her room, among other things) 😂

What an insensitive comment. This poster doesn't sound like they have had a sick family member or raised a child.

The deleted comments from @tatalan were to say that DD was to be pitied, as a Black African child, being brought up by the white racist I am - based on my comments about H&M.

Happily DD is thriving, with strong connections to her birth family, community of origin etc as well as her adoptive family

Can't believe that people believe Meghan should talk to her blackmailing abusive father and his patently jealous daughter and blackface painting son simply for "ratings."

Firstly, they are not working members of the Royal Family any more. They do not need to win popularity contests against the others. And secondly, even with their low "ratings", they are still succeeding with every project they do, together or individually.

Mumsnet generally advises people with abusive parents to go No Contact. Unless it's Meghan, of course. In her case, she should allow her father to continue his emotionally abusive behaviour to her.

And an amazing DD, and incredibly privileged to have been welcomed into her community of origin because I love her and so do her extended family and community. She has been the bridge into a very different community, and I have been welcomed because we all love her and want the best for her. It has been a privilege for me to become a part of her community.

Because he retired to Mexico and didn't keep in physical contact. They did have phone contact. She was working in Canada for about ten years, Hallmark movies and Suits series. Once the relationship with Harry became known, the ability to meet was further restricted. As for Samantha, would you keep in contact with someone who referred to your mom as the maid?

There are just some incredibly nasty people posting on here. I think it's about time Mumsnet shut this section down. The bile and the vitriol against anyone daring to criticise Meghan and Harry's behaviour is just awful. It's not normal to post on thread after thread taking it over, tag teaming the next person and attacking people.

@mixedrecycling I've not followed the attacks on you but how dare anyone who doesn't know you or your DD criticise your parenting. I'm just speechless.

Every single thread ends up with people being attacked as racist.

There is so much real racism in the world to deal with and so much injustice, but this ridiculous bunch have to tie their flag to a dreadful woman who alienates and discards friends and family, then makes millions on the back of a royal connection she despises yet keeps her title, along with her nasty spiteful, entitled husband.

You do surprise me, polkadot . Most of the time everybody is tearing the couple down.

Anytime polkadotdalmatiian gets push back, she insults people, derails the thread, or tries to get it deleted.

It's getting a little wearying. When people post thread after thread to bash Meghan, people like her have no problem with it, but the minute people push back against the abuse, the section should be shut down.

@OhcantthInkofaname I was purely asking about her relationship with her Dad. M’s siblings are a completely different issue.

A pp said they were estranged but I was under the impression M and her Dad were not estranged when she met H, hence the reason for my question.

Estranged to me is NC rather than being separated by a large distance and keeping in contact by phone/email/text/FaceTime etc.
