Pardon the Apple News link !
I saw this earlier and I might be a big romantic but it really touched me ! 🥹
It was very a very heartfelt and unneeded comment and for me shows that he's still wild about her after all this time they have been together.

I @-ed the wrong poster

SleepingTilSummer · 21/04/2023 17:21

A random woman in the crowd tried to get her 5 minutes of fame by commenting on Kate’s outfit. The comment was so clear than he had to address it but he looked awkward. Who could blame him? It’s not really the sort of things they talk about, not in public anyway. It would have been even more awkward if he’d said something less glowing about her. I think the woman was a twat and clearly an attention seeker but he knows how to deal with people like this. In that second, he knew whatever he said could potentially be a headline.

Having said that, Kate is attractive. Not that it matters if she wasn’t. The posts here tearing women's looks apart are unnecessary and horrible. I’m not a Royal supporter but I will always be disgusted when people tear women down in that way.

God alive... are we so in love with the Royal family that we have to be in awe of a man who says after 11 years of marriage that his wife always looks stunning? (A woman who has every beauty help imaginable at her fingertips).

I didn’t see this as lighthearted 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyway moving on…….

FFS. People have said FAR worse on this thread but somehow that comment means I'm bitter and upset.

Just drop it. Or maybe pick up on someone else's posts please.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 21/04/2023 17:23

I don’t think I’m doing the picking on here, perhaps you could drop it as well.

I am on a discussion forum and giving a view of what I think of the OP. I am not - like you - calling posters bitter and upset, for what is actually a fairly mild comment, given some of the others on here.

I will answer you. You started this.

HyacinthBookay · 21/04/2023 17:26

I’d be more impressed if he said he loved her for her mind - apparently she is very bright and knowledgeable about art which is what they both studied. She is said to go off in secret to all the galleries. I would also be more impressed if he said that he loved her because she is committed to making a difference to the lives of women around the world, sending out a message that women do not have to marry powerful men to succeed, and as such is a brilliant role model for their daughter.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 21/04/2023 17:27

As am I, and if I want to comment on a post and form an opinion on that post I will.

Bubblegumtea · 21/04/2023 17:29

This thread really shows a woman can be bashed and discussed no matter how lovely, beautiful or personally uninvolved in the reason for such a discussion being held, just because others are jealous of them. I love Kate and love that William said such a kind and truthful thing about her publicly.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 21/04/2023 17:32

I have shaken her hand before her marriage and I can tell you that she is more beautiful in real life than pictures.

TheOGCCL · 21/04/2023 17:34

William and Kate play the game well, they know what it's all about. Although I do admire Kate to keep her discipline, I think I'd also be like that if I knew the media was watching my every outing. She can't afford not to look good really, it must be tiresome to some extent but as I say they know the terms of engagement.

HamBone · 21/04/2023 17:35

DuchessOfSausage · 21/04/2023 17:16

@HamBone , but according to some the hair is all extensions and the cheekbones were 'acquired'.

Does that really matter? Tons of people have extensions and most of us at least dye our hair. I personally haven’t had plastic surgery but have no issues with other people doing so.

Yes, those are nice compliments too but men are allowed to also appreciate their wife's physical beauty and this was in response to a woman who said 'that's an amazing outfit Kate has on!" so it would be really weird if he said 'her mind is beautiful' in response. I do feel so sorry for the Royals, everything they say and do is under a microscope.

OMG who is PK and JR. I'm losing the plot here

I know, right?! 😂

jeffgoldblum · 21/04/2023 17:37

Well i personally thought it was romantic! , I'm not sure what was so controversial about the thread that needed all the unpleasant comments but I suppose on this board it's parr for the course !

I think it's lovely OP lol whenever a beautiful woman is bought up you'll unfortunately get disparaging compliments from certain types who can't just accept that beautiful women exist without a childish 'yeah BUT'. I think they get so wrapped up in their own envy that they feel the person they're discussing is somehow deserving of a slice of humble pie. That said I expect a Kate is not on mumsnet luckily😂

PippaF2 · 21/04/2023 17:40

DuchessOfSausage · 21/04/2023 15:04

She is not a born beauty
It's in the eye of the beholder, and I think she is beautiful.

Agree. I think she's always been beautiful - in a girl next door way - but definitely a beauty.

Maireas · 21/04/2023 17:41

Roussette · 21/04/2023 17:09

I don't like the word 'pan face'. If that's a pan face, I have a toilet seat face

😂😂😂

derxa · 21/04/2023 17:42

I must wean myself off reading the RF threads. They're not good for the soul. I'm guessing that W&K are at a stage in their relationship where they love each other for who they are rather than what they look like.

Maireas · 21/04/2023 17:42

Unfortunately true, @jeffgoldblum ☹️

jeffgoldblum · 21/04/2023 17:42

You may be right, I have no idea 🤷‍♀️, even if I don't like someone I wouldn't criticise their looks !
All people are attractive to someone, so I would argue all people are attractive in their own way .

I wonder if I’m private she doesn’t
get a bit annoyed with people going
on about her looks when there is far more to her.

But I understand that this is a fan page and will bow put and leave you all to enjoy.

But equally, you don't know whether the poster making those comments is a plastic surgeon, a famous cover girl, a supermodel, a society beauty, somebody who has seen a lot of Kate over the years or a combination of some of those. It doesn't automatically come from a place of envy.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 21/04/2023 17:44

mybeautifuloak · 21/04/2023 17:08

She has no high cheek bones. Do you even know what high cheek bones are? She has a naturally heavy lower face. Pippa's nickname at school was actually 'pan face'. It's common knowledge that they have flat facial features. Well they did. Kate has as others say 'acquired' them

If only she had left well alone.

She looked stunning then - and had youth on her side.

All the "treatments" and "tweaks" haven't made her look more improved.

Either way - she looks 1000x better on a bad day than I would on a good one.

Leave her alone.

jeffgoldblum · 21/04/2023 17:44

@Maireas 😢 , me too!

I agree. Such a shame someone has linked a photo to Vicki Pollard next to one of Meghan on another thread.
Horrible.

They are both beautiful women.
