What is the 5th May, Why are some places saying it's a Bank Holiday?

@OutofControl3 the King and Queens Coronation is on Saturday 6th of May. In recognition of the Coronation an extra Bank Holiday has been granted, it was provisionally Friday 5th of May but due to local elections it has been finalised as Monday the 8th of May.
