Charles did well today in Germany

I never post on this forum. I am not a massive royalist and have been dismayed recently with all the shenanigans. But with all the division going on I so loved listening to Charles speak in Germany today.

Respect that he did so much in German. That is such a warm gesture. He is in Germany so he speaks German. Shame more Brits can’t do the same when abroad. And also lovely to listen to the peace and warmth in his voice.

I am being an optimist and think solidarity and togetherness is the way forwards.

I'm American, so needless to say, I have quite a few opportunities to refer to myself as another nationality.

The King needs broader shoulders, all those medals! They had to overlap and were still edging over the lapel and shoulder seams. Fortunately two are able to be worn on their own and one fits round his neck.

I like seeing Charles and Camilla having the giggles. I bet he thought he was on the Generation Game instead of being in a German cheese factory.

I mean I don’t think it’s that impressive. And as for the snotty ‘why don’t most brits do that’ it’s probably because we don’t all have the luxury of the best education money can buy and living in opulence for life while doing no real work. If I had that lifestyle I’d set aside a few days to brush up on my German too. Good for him if he enjoyed himself but I can’t bring myself to the level of slavish devotion where you pretend he’s better than ‘most brits’ when in fact he’s just much more privileged.
