George, Charlotte and Louis will be in the Coronation Procession. A shame Archie was not invited to join them.

I think KC has made it clear though that as far as the procession etc goes its going to be working Royals only

So the news articles that Charlotte and Louis will be part of it are wrong then?

How do we know who has been invited. ? Anyway you opt out of royal family it means just that. The children don’t know each other. The boys are estrange so the kids are too. Sad but that is family life. I personally would rather Harry and Megan stay abroad ( as that is clearly what they want ) as the coronation is not about them but Charles.

VixenTodd · 24/03/2023 10:33

The monarchy doesn't represent what they stand for based on their own words. They don't get on with any senior royals in their own words. They think its a cage in their own words. They think it's racist in their own words.
The only reason they'd come then is to make money. Nobody wants them profiting because they now know don't have anything else to make money from.

Prescottdanni123 · 24/03/2023 07:56

All 3 of them are children of the next king and are close to the throne. Archive and Lillibet are 6th and 7th and their parents aren't even working royals anymore. If Harry and Meghan hate such an entrapment, racist institution, why do they even want their kids to have the prince and princess titles? Why do they want their kids to take part in the coronation for the next evil monarch?

I've been wondering the same.

AskAwayAgain · 24/03/2023 11:11

And yet you were all posting just a month ago that Archie was not invited, just like Charlotte and Louis. Confidently stating that only George as the Heir will be involved in the Coronation.

It’s Archie’s 4th birthday anyway, he’ll no doubt be in CA blowing his candles out with the Oprah clapping in the background. There will be a professional photographer on site ready to upload the pics just as the King gets his crown put on his head.

Not with California beoing 8 hours behind the UK they won't - unless perhaps Archie has his "real" bortghday party three days before?

AskAwayAgain · 24/03/2023 11:21

Well maybe Harry won't come anyway so none of them will be there.

Exactly this. Harry and Meghan didn't want to be working royals, fair enough, but that means they slip well down the list of importance so why should their child be included in a royal celebration?

Archie doesn’t know his grandfather or any of his relatives. He isn’t used to the ‘Institution’ either. I imagine he would be terrified . Williams children are heirs to the throne and used to appearing in public. Archie isn’t.

AskAwayAgain · 24/03/2023 11:49

How do you know that? Children are individuals and some would love this, some would hate it.
And Charlotte and Louis have never done anything like this. Sitting with your parents on a balcony or a crowd at football is a very different experience.

OP posts:
Ishouldbeoutside · 24/03/2023 11:52

I don’t think a coronation is a time to test out whether a young child could cope with the whole experience. He’s not eligible to be there anyway.

AskAwayAgain · 24/03/2023 11:53

Anyone is eligible to be there who the King decides on.
They have made major changes so Camilla's grandchildren have a formal role.

i don't see the need for any of the Wales children to be there, they are primary age and would best left at home running around. Harrys kids are even young and not relevant to the coronation. surely a quick balcony appearance by the Wales kids will be enough for the public who have to see them.

AskAwayAgain · 24/03/2023 11:57

I agree it would be better for none of the children to be there.

Charlotte was at the Queen’s funeral. Louis is used to the fact that there is pomp
and circumstance surrounding his family, and he has taken part in the jubilee concert, and balcony appearances. I would suggest that the coronation would not be the time to see if Archie can cope with a state occasion, with lots of people he doesn’t know and lots of noise from trumpet fanfares and the like.

There were pictures ahead of the Jubilee showing the Wales children practicing in carriages at Windsor.

LightsOnNow · 24/03/2023 12:04

Ridiculous nonsense all this procession and other medieval shite surrounding what should be just the signing of a bit of paper and a slather of olive oil on their heads.

I feel for the kids, it's not like going to a friend's birthday party.

Total hyped up drivel and so unnecessary too.

AAAAND I feel better after that rant!

BasiliskStare · 24/03/2023 12:06

I think the dichotomy here is that we have an unwritten constitution where we have a Head of State who ( let's face it has pretty much no power - ( spider letters aside ) but is part of a Royal Family - It's unusual. So as a father I can understand Charles wants Harry there , but the coronation is not a family event.

Whether you agree with the monarchy or not ( and many don't - I get that ) as non working Royals I think it is right that Harry and his family are invited but I think it also that it is right they are given a very very minor role & kept out of the picture as far as possible . I would trust them as far as I could throw them.

I think KC has done ( if true ) rightly to invite them - personally I would like them to politely decline given all the shit they have thrown about but if they do come I think rather than people booing them , they should be kept out of the limelight and after the ceremony they can go back to Frogmore Cottage and have a nice birthday party for Archie.

I am of the opinion that they are clinging on to Royal connections to make their money but I think that thing is getting a bit boring now so If they want to come - turn up be discreet and polite & then head off home.

This is just my opinion ( others are available )

Well quite. When would Archie have the opportunity to do this?

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 24/03/2023 12:16

There are so many unknowns, though. They might have asked about Archie joining and his parents said no. He hasn't been raised in the professional royal environment so he might struggle or feel uncomfortable, or be prone to misbehaving, or a hundred other things - by comparison he is a "normal" kid who will have had zero experience walking in any kind of parades. The Wales kids have done carriage processions, balconies and greeting the public. Plus they are the children of the next heir to the throne. Archie isn't. IMO it's pointless to speculate because there is nothing concrete to suggest Archie/Lili have or haven't been included in the ceremony in any way.

AskAwayAgain · 24/03/2023 12:17

The Royal Family have had over 300 laws changed. They have plenty of power.

Louis seems like a normal child who did not cope with the state occasion at all. From putting his hands over his ears to acting up. Normal behaviour but showing clearly he was not coping.

Will Camilla's grand children play any part?

Have they? I didn't know that BP had commented on it, I thought it was H and M that had commented.

Whaeanui · 24/03/2023 12:28

Why do they want their kids to take part in the coronation for the next evil monarch?

Why so many comments like this? You’re all responding to media gossip, not their wishes. Neither Harry or his wife ever described the former monarch or the present one as evil. Harry called one person evil in his book: Rupert Murdoch. He still believes in the monarchy, his focus was the relationship between the institution and media and how that impacted them as a family. As previous posters have said, I don’t think such young children would be suddenly thrust into this. They’ve kept their faces mostly away from cameras so far.
