What are they going to do with Andrew at the coronation? Will they make him wear a suit and stand out the way at the back or something? If Harry goes I imagine he'll wear a suit, seems a bit cruel to lump them together in some sort of outcast corner.

I have a suspicion Andrew might have a convenient case of Covid

Good shout. Has he not used that excuse yet?

I hope Harry and Meghan don't go. If Andrew goes he will be very low key I expect. I dont think Harry and Meghan are too keen on low key.

They managed that very successfully at the funeral and Jubilee. Why should this be different?

One of the big jubilee events.

If he did that for a few years I think some elements of the public would have more regard for him. I think he'd be happier too. I've found that various humble volunteer jobs, outdoors, practical work, can be very fulfilling

Yes, that's the only possible route.

But remember, it took a good 20 years for the Wessexes to be rehabilitated. By which time he'll be in his 80s, and people will remember as much about him as they know now about eg the Duke of Kent (perhaps more because there was a scandal, but over that time frame it'll be getting a bit hazy)

And I don't see him having the character to take that route, and do it with a strong sense of service.

My god, he would never do anything so menial as that. He just wouldn't. It's not in his make up.

He wants a showy charity to front like Pitch @ The Palace until it was pulled. Andrew flew all round the world with his £250K security to countries in the ME, and China with very dodgy human rights records. The whole enterprise was set up as a profit making deal and a lot of it ended up in PA's pocket. (There is plenty out there on Google about this)

If Andrew had a scintalla of sense, he would stay out the public eye. Or he might just have all hos dodgy deals and backhanders looked at and raked over. This is one of the reasons I feel, Charles is not going to let him have any sort of role.

I agree. Andrew is most unlikely to have a complete change of character and undertake some low key, unpublicised but worthwhile job. John Profumo he ain't!!

He is at the age now where he could just retire to one of the many royal estates and spend his retirement riding horses and reading his ex-wife's Mills & Boon offerings.

One of the big jubilee events.

Ah ok that's long enough ago for him to get it again

He's going to spend the rest of his days feeling aggrieved and hard done by. And that will surely fill up most of the daily schedule of an over-indulged man baby.

Wake up feeling aggrieved
Shout at man servant
Nibble on toast whilst feeling hard done by
Throw tea cup at maid

etc. etc.

Delusional, grandiose and entitled.

Seems that quite a few in that family share those characteristics.

It's all just a bit awkward isn't it. I wonder if they actually all get on and have like family gatherings. Suits sounds a good idea.

I think they do get on. Harry said that it's what he misses most, the big family get-togethers they had. I know Charles and Anne are very close.

He really needs to find a low-profile charity, perhaps an animal or environmental one, and grind away in the background quietly in a no-profile role, showing some effort to redeem himself by doing something useful. Working at a dog rescue, exercising the dogs, and cleaning out the kennels? Cleaning up roadside litter or clearing streams?

If he did that for a few years I think some elements of the public would have more regard for him. I think he'd be happier too. I've found that various humble volunteer jobs, outdoors, practical work, can be very fulfilling.

Andrew grinding away is what has caused his troubles in the first place. Allegedly.

LadyHaversham · 09/03/2023 13:36

Camilla had Charles’ back. Andrew does not. I think Andrew should try and win The Open ⛳️ 🏌️‍♂️- that should keep him quiet for a few years. It’s A Royal Bogie and all that.

I see more and more likenesses between Harry and Andrew. Both pretty thick, super entitled, unable to read the room and completely out of touch with reality. Harry because of the drugs and Andrew because he's completely up his own arse (figuratively not literally)

Roussette · 10/03/2023 12:23

Ahhh... yeah, let's put Harry on a par with Andrew. Rightio!
