Why is Harry's book in South Park called Waaaagh? I don't get it. Am I being dense?

It's the wail of a selfish toddler.

Tittyfilarious81 · 01/03/2023 22:23

Whinging baby / toddler waaaahhh waaaahhh

Molly70 · 01/03/2023 22:24

I haven’t read the book myself but from what I gather, he complains a lot about times he didn’t get his own way so comes across like a toddler having a tantrum

SlightlySusan · 01/03/2023 22:24

Whine of a baby and when said with American accent, rhymes with spare.

InstagramBitchWife · 01/03/2023 22:25

Fucking loved that episode- see user name 😂

UWhatNow · 01/03/2023 22:27

It’s the noise of a whiny tantrum ‘waagh’

PlinkyPlonkyPurple · 01/03/2023 22:31

Thank you! I kept thinking it didn't rhyme with Spare so wasn't getting it. But yes, a wailing toddler makes perfect sense

The book is a whining wail of a juvenile and can be said to rhyme with Spare - Whare.

StormzyinaTCup · 01/03/2023 23:09

😂I might have to pinch that one!

crumpledhornedsnorcack · 01/03/2023 23:10

It was a brilliant episode!

LadyVictoriaSponge · 01/03/2023 23:14

@milti that really made me laugh.

cassiatwenty · 01/03/2023 23:17

"The Prince of Canada and his Wife" 🤣

LadyVictoriaSponge · 01/03/2023 23:41

I wonder how they cope being an international laughing stock, South Park must have cut really deep.

ComeTheFckOnBridget · 02/03/2023 00:14

From the headlines ive seen, I think they're "overwhelmed" and, simultaneously, "bored"

Andylion · 02/03/2023 01:09

It rhymes with Spare?

Frances0911 · 02/03/2023 01:15

It's slang for war, so my guess was it's the 'war' he's having against the Royal family at the moment.

This is what I found on google, something to do with Orks, whatever they are.

Waaagh!", which is a guttural slang for the word "War!", is an almighty phenomenon, an almost spiritual calling to war that fills every Greenskin with frenetic energy. It is the will of Gork and Mork made manifest, a power visible to Greenskins in many ways. Shamans, as Greenskins call their wizards, are also directly connected to their gods. A Shaman can tap into that green power to blast foes or rouse Greenskins to greater heights of violence.[2c]

It's from War Hammer, whatever that is, some kind of fantasy/gaming maybe?

Stealing this! 🤣

lavendery · 02/03/2023 02:20

Where I come from (commonwealth english) we'd prob spell it "weh" ("wehhhh").. out of curiosity how would you spell it?

ShippingNews · 02/03/2023 03:55

I doubt that it's from Warhammer. It's just how an American would write down the word for " crying baby" . The South Park character pronounces it like " wear" which rhymes with " spare".

Say it like 'wear' only drawn out and the emphasis on the first 2 letters. It then rhymes with spare, but is also the noise a spoilt bratty kid makes when they don't get there own way. South Park genius.
