Something unknown under police guard when Queen died

Colleague claims her friend’s son who is a police officer was stationed at TECA, Aberdeen’s exhibition centre, from the morning of the day the Queen died until after her coffin had left Aberdeen. Apparently this was a 24 hour, round the clock guard, by lots of junior police officers and soldiers - but the reason for it was never explained to those undertaking it. None of them were briefed on why they were guarding the building.

Why would this be? I don’t for a second believe the Queen was in the exhibition centre, as has been suggested by colleague. She indicated that the convoy we watched on that Sunday morning was a decoy. It has bothered me for months though. TECA is very close to Aberdeen airport, wondered if it might relate to the movements of the RF. But then, would the soldiers and officers not be told why they were there?

Maybe they rounded up all the women they had been using as decoy queens for years and wiped their memories.

They would have used Aberdeen for its previous expertise in doing this with fake Santas - as its near the North Pole they do this every year after Christmas apparently.

This is my fave theory and would make an amazing movie 🙈

Timeforachangeisitnot · 21/01/2023 20:44

Friends husband was one of the ‘men-in-black’ on the cortège . It was not a fake, but terrorism was a huge risk.
so perhaps TECA was a staging area for the anti-terror men and equipment?
Interesting though …

Even if this is true (and it does have an air of "my third-cousin-once-removed's neighbour down the street who once met a man who won a goldfish at a fair and saw a man in the fairground who looked a bit like that bloke off the tele, and he told them that that other bloke on the radio once said, whilst swearing them to secrecy ----)

So feffing what?!!!!

PuttingDownRoots · 21/01/2023 20:48

The Queens personal supply of marmalade sandwiches

DobbyTheHouseElk · 21/01/2023 20:48

Interesting…

sukiwh · 21/01/2023 20:49

TECA is a huge complex, just googled it - it has a capacity of 15,000. So I feel like it would be a great place to store lots of vehicles e.g. armoured cars, tanks etc.

It is also right on a main road (dual carriageway leading to airport) and has flats nearby, so imagine residents would have awareness of convoys entering.

As PP have said, loose lips sink ships. If it’s true that there was a 24 guard in place for several days, most involved have kept their lips sealed.

My guess is an MI5/6 Temporary station

SoShallINever · 21/01/2023 20:54

Jesus, maybe your friends son should keep his mouth shut.

I like this theory but would it be guarded by young uniformed officers?

I’m just happy I’m not the only person puzzled by this third or fourth-hand piece of info!

It was a place to bring Nicola and her trans mates for their own safety, the mites.

Best guess it was a supply zone for all the personnel, food, camp beds, arsenal, logistics, central command that kind of thing.

Colleague’s friend’s son.

And why would he need to keep his mouth shut?

OP - lots of local 'folklore' surrounding the Queens demise, such as speculation that she left Balmoral in a delivery van hours before the coffin procession blah blah blah. Harry says in his book that he saw his grandmother on the day of her death at Balmoral....so whatever they were guarding, it wasn't the Queens body

thelonelyones · 21/01/2023 20:58

As someone who was involved in the regular reviews of the plans for the Queen's death, lying in state, funeral, I can assure you that she was not at TECA. TECA was not part of any plans I was involved in or saw, and no, I'm not going to give details on those plans.

Hmm obviously...1st rule...tell no one

Oh dear, I hadn’t heard the delivery van story!

From People magazine:

“On Monday, the Crown of Scotland was placed atop the monarch's coffin, where it was lying in state at St. Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland. After the coffin was draped in the Royal Standard of Scotland, it was also decorated with a floral wreath.

The Crown of Scotland is the the oldest existing piece of crown jewelry in the U.K., according to The Court Jeweller. This crown has been worn at or present during the coronations of several Scottish monarchs, including Mary, Queen of Scots (1543), James I and VI (1567), Charles I (1633) and Charles II (1651).”

You might unknowingly be part of the decoy plans. Did yours include a painting of the Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies? If not you weren't in on the real plans - I'm very sorry.

Coxspurplepippin · 21/01/2023 21:02

Crown, orb, sceptre and if you think about it, the coffin itself. Also security for the royal family.

EmmaEmerald · 21/01/2023 21:02

Could it be where the Royals would be taken in the event of an incident occurring? Seems unlikely they were guarding the magic carpet or the beastly bison or whatever.

Coxspurplepippin · 21/01/2023 21:03

I meant the unoccupied coffin....... It must be a bit macabre, but would there have been duplicate coffins at say, Windsor, Sandringham and Balmoral for every eventuality for when they were needed?

Mumzoo5070 · 21/01/2023 21:04

The live helicopter coverage stopped just as the convoy entered Aberdeen. It started again after they left the City...

🤣🤣
I bet lots of people on here won’t understand this but it made me chuckle.

tillytoodles1 · 21/01/2023 21:05

We'll never know.

Ricco12 · 21/01/2023 21:06

Teca or P&J live is the new exhibition Center in Aberdeen for concerts and such like and yes my friend is a police officer and was called up.

It is right next to the airport and you very much can enter it away from the flats which are at one side but the road in is at the airport side. There is a Hilton hotel attached to it though.

Are you suggesting they were guarding an array of Knockwurst sausages?
