The royal family

A quick synopsis about what Harry is claiming?

Ive seen the odd thread pop up about various head lines about what he is saying in his book or on the interview

I cant watch the interview as I cringe a bit at uncomfortable or embarrassing things so I would just be writhing with cringe if its too bad (and I gather it is)

Equally I havent read the book

Each time I see a thread about a new thing, its hundreds of pages long already and people talk on it as if everyone knows whats been said, which I dont

But Im nosy enough to be interested!!

So is there a quick synopsis of the following threads Ive seen
Lipgloss
Dog bowl
Something about a necklace, not sure whose
What happened at PP funeral?

Anything else!

Psychedelic drugs

IKEA furniture
killing 25 Taliban
mocking an older lady with bad legs when he was at school - his friend’s fault
Nazi fancy dress - W&K’s fault
At Elton when QM died (definitely not on a skiing holiday)

bellac11 · 14/01/2023 14:04

But what are the stories behind those headlines I mean, I havent read them I only know something happened about a dog bowl (or did it?)

The list seems to be growing too!!

So a one liner on each of these topics?

Read the book yourself!

DillDanding · 14/01/2023 14:12

Read the book before you comment. You’ll be surprised at what utter tosh has thus far been written about it. The frothing about it on MN has been beyond ridiculous.

I am no monarchist and I’d like to see the back of every one of them. But this is a measured, intelligent and fascinating book. If you’re after scandal, salacious details, whining and bitching - you’ll be disappointed.

HarrietSchulenberg · 14/01/2023 14:16

Wait a couple of weeks and the charity shops will have loads of copies for a quid. From what I've seen it's one of those books you can skim read in a few hours so you could donate it back the same day (if they'll take it).

Theunamedcat · 14/01/2023 14:17

It's already on ebay in the preowned book section

Puffy123 · 14/01/2023 14:21

I think the monarchy should be abolished but I enjoyed the book. Got it on Audible with an extra credit (about £7).

Order it from the library otherwise. £1 or free depending where you live. Bit of a waiting list though!

The salacious details that have been reported are a fairly minor part of the book TBF.

ZeroFuchsGiven · 14/01/2023 14:22

Meg asked to use Kate lip gloss and k didnt like her sticking her finger in.
Will push H to the floor after an argument, heralded in the dogs bowl and broke t, also breaking his necklace.
Charles and will tried to reason with H atPP funeral.

Please excuse my typos, just woken up after a 17hr migraine and feel disorientated

I'm definitely not reading it then.

but then you'd have to listen to Harry's one tone, droning voice whinging on and on and on.

Quick synopsis of Harry’s claim? He is a victim.

And everything is someone else’s fault.

LadyHester · 14/01/2023 18:27

@DillDanding If you’re after scandal, salacious details, whining and bitching - you’ll be disappointed.

And a frostbitten penis isn’t salacious?

bellac11 · 14/01/2023 18:30

So now there is a frost bitten penis in the mix?

1.The Royal family have arguments like any other family

  1. Some of them don't have a lot in common and although generally civil have been known to snap at each other in times of stress.
  2. Harry has never got over the death of his mother.
  3. Harry did not explain about Royal protocol to Meghan before she met his family. She felt awkward and ill prepared at the time and subsequently has mocked the protocol as if her being embarrassed wasn't his/her fault.
  4. Harry has shared multiple small anecdotal issues to show the (lack of) depth of a rift, vs just moving apart as their focus changes.
  5. Harry also shared multiple embarrassing confessions to make him appear more relatable (losing virginity, frozen penis, his girlfriend thinking that living with a beanbag snd laundry on radiators makes him a slob).
  6. It's all a bit if a shame but he isn't the first Royal to make a whiny tit of himself snd he won't be the last.
