If this gets written and published, what do you think it will be like?

She's pretty clever, so I reckon it will be all about her younger years and how clever, wonderful, caring and charitable she's always been. It'll include things to make us feel she was lovely to the royals and Kate and takes responsibility for her actions, eg. "Beautiful Kate was crying, but I was hurt by what she said. I could see she never meant it, and my heart went out to her, but despite trying to show her my love, she wasn't in the right place to accept it. She's a wonderful woman and blah blah blah..."

And some people will buy all this sadly because she's cleverer than harry. She'll spin it all really well to make her appear some kind of hard done by goddess, and it will be fully fact checked and flawless. It will b more damaging to the royals than Harry's book, because she'll do it more cleverly and will manipulate more people.

Every time someone posts a thread like this and people pile on it becomes more and more clear to me that H&M were absolutely correct in their assessment of British sentiment toward them, and they were right to walk away.

This is just an anonymous forum which no-one has to read if they don't want to! My thread isn't going to appear on Netflix! I'm not writing about them in a book published to the world! Just having a light hearted opinion based on H&Ms own actions and they way I perceive them, on a forum where people can read these opinions of they want! I'm not doing interviews on television.

Anyway, I genuinely thought a book from Meghan was part of the book deal, so apologies if I got that wrong! There will b one one day, if not soon!

She participated in actual sailing like Cowes week in an all girls' team. It is a typical mc girl sporting choice. She was always wealthy enough to afford her chosen lifestyle so she wouldn't need to resort to that.

Pula was named after the currency used in Botswana. It means ‘rain’ which is scarce, and therefore precious, in Botswana.

Well if she's offered a lot of money it will be hard to say no to I suppose but I actually think she would really rather not have to write a memoir of her life.

The problem she faces is that she's carefully crafted her back-story over the length of her career and along the way she's "massaged" her story quite a bit. Fair enough, I'm sure many people in the entertainment industry do this and for the most part get away with it. MM as a member of the RF though, will have a forensic spotlight shone on every single aspect of any memoir she writes. There are already many inconsistencies in known claims she's made about her life story. There's also many ex-friends (hence the term "markled") that would likely come out of the woodwork and happily tell their side of things. Then there's her family who will be everywhere decrying her claims. Add onto that Tom Bower and his ilk, who is apparently digging for dirt on her mother Doria's whereabouts while MM was growing up (disgusting btw - her mother deserves privacy and has never asked for any attention).

Basically if MM writes a memoir it could end up being a reputational disaster! Unlike Harry, there's no wall of silence around her family and the people and ex-friends/husband that she's known along the way. The only people she can write about knowing they won't respond or call her out is the RF. So maybe she can write a book about her time in the RF and nothing else.

She’s really not clever. I don’t know where people get that from. She can talk a lot of word salad with some trendy words and phrases repeated over and over, but has very little of substance to say. She definitely is not extremely bright/very clever.

I say that with absolutely no malice toward her, btw. I have no strong feelings toward her or Harry, nor toward the ‘other camp’ 🙄 But she simply isn’t all that clever.

I’ve no idea what she’ll write about - she was a working royal for all of 5 minutes so won’t be able to spin much of any value out of that, I don’t think...we’ll have to wait and see, I guess!

A lot of people will be interested in her life before, during and after her brief experience within the Royal Household. So I’m sure a book will sell very well indeed. Probably better than Harry’s. But again, it’s been about 5 minutes since they left so is there anything much to say yet? I suppose it could end at present, leaving room for a second volume at a later date.

I’d like to see them both, especially Harry, spend 10 years (at least!) building something substantial to work on/with, something with true purpose and meaning. After that, maybe they could potentially come back with something of substance to say. Until then I’m just not interested - I couldn’t learn anything from either of them as it stands.

(Mind you I’m quite sure I’m not their target market!)
