'Harry’s decision to remind all of the terrible things said about her to help sell his appalling book is grotesque.'

Harold seems to be only mentioning people who won't or can't respond to his accusations and personal anecdotes.

I didn't know they dated

I clicked on this thinking the agent was going to be expressing worry for Harry!

grayhairdontcare · 08/01/2023 10:29

He is a over privileged prick

AutumnCrow · 08/01/2023 10:29

If it is true that there are invasions of privacy in poor taste in Harry's book, without the consent of the subjects or deceased subjects' families, this will inevitably paint him in a very poor light.

He said he wanted a 'more peaceful life' yet is apparently bringing turmoil to others. Badly done, harry; badly done.

notanotheroneagain · 08/01/2023 10:31

Sounds like the 'agent' is shamelessly using Caroline's name to make themselves relevant.

Did they consult her mum, who especially phoned in her support for Meghan last week.

Tamarindtree · 08/01/2023 10:32

I didn’t know he had dated her either. I don’t know much about her other than she is now dead and he has written personal details that cannot be approved or disproved by her.

Very bad taste and totally self centred on his part.

Theunamedcat · 08/01/2023 10:33

Ouch that's harsh he has really crossed the line let the dead rest in peace

MoirasSaggyBundles · 08/01/2023 10:36

I said this on another thread, but has he sought permission from any of the women he is name dropping in this book and associating with some fairly salacious or risable details? Obviously he could not seek permission from Caroline Flack, but he could have asked her family. He's dropped Courtney Cox's name for having mushrooms lying around in her house, said some sexist stuff about Chelsey Davy, and any number of women are being speculated about being his first sexual encounter - whoever it was should have been prepared in advance to know this detail would out. Caroline's poor mum has been speaking out lately about her daughter's reputation being torn to shreds. This sort of attention is just another source of pain for them.

Dystopiawarming · 08/01/2023 10:41

What a horrible rejection of her, poor CF
I'm sure she was an imperfect person with her own issues that lead to her suicide, but she doesn't deserve this at all, nor do her family and friends. Let the dead rest. This is so unfair.
This book gets worse and worse.

Justme10 · 08/01/2023 10:47

Maybe I am missing something but from that article it doesn't look like he's said anything bad about her or their relationship?
It seems to be more or less what she wrote about him in her own book.

I don't know. He talks about H repeating slurs about CF but I don't know if he's referring to her being his bit of rough or slurs regarding her character. I guess we'll know when the English version comes out.

Unicorn2022 · 08/01/2023 10:55

I only knew they dated after reading Caroline's autobiography so it seems a bit rich to attack Harry for doing the same thing, although he should never have written this book and I do agree with her that he should have his titles removed.

SeverusSnapeAlways · 08/01/2023 10:55

From the article you have linked, he has said nothing bad about Caroline. He has only echoed what was written in her book and said she was nice. Wonder if she asked his permission when that

Justme10 · 08/01/2023 11:00

She wrote at the time: "I was no longer Caroline Flack, TV presenter, I was Caroline Flack, Prince Harry’s bit of rough.
"Once the story got out, that was it. We had to stop seeing each other."

Anyone who reads her autobiography will see the same slur though. It's not a personal detail that can't be disproved. A slur that he obviously doesn't agree with.
I will reserve judgement until I read the book but I don't see how this is controversial in anyway.
He seems to speak nicely about her.

Posted too soon!!

Wonder if she asked his permission when that was published.

It would have been more disrespectful to not mention something the public were already aware of.

Imagine him mentioning everyone but her. Then the press would have said he didn't think she was worth mentioning.

Sick of all the threads about the book based on little snippets that are been released. It can all be twisted by the fantastic press we have!

MoirasSaggyBundles · 08/01/2023 11:10

But there's the imbalance. CF was the hurt party. She was the one that was being portrayed as the unworthy, older, working class etc interloper. CF referring herself to the derogatory terms used against her when they were dating is her owning it, humouring it and processing it. And she has, since writing her own book, died in circumstances we know related to her fragility/depression/fear. For Harry to dredge up the slurs against CF as proof that he is a victim (which the whole book is about) is crass and unthinking. I had no idea they had dated, I'm sure most people didn't. It sounds like a very short lived relationship. Why amplify it now?

I don't think that it is fair to say that either CFs imperfections or issues lead to her suicide. I do see what you may be trying to say, but as a person who has lost a loves one to suicide it doesn't read well. It sounds a bit blaming.
Harry comes across as a bit attention seeking which is sad.

Somebatshitteryonhere · 08/01/2023 11:18

I don’t think from that article he said anything bad though, and is very complimentary . I’m not really seeing the issue so far, there is nothing there that wasn’t already in the public domain

I was just about to say the same thing. Surely this is just facts, we dated , press were knobs as per so we split up. She wrote about him did she get permission.

Jusmakingit · 08/01/2023 11:22

Harry hitting a new low. I think he should have more respect for her, especially considering she is no longer here and the reason she struggled was because of the press and people putting light on her so much. Her mental health and what she went through is not considered enough for him.

Isnt he suppose to be an advocate for mental health ... i guess money and book sales trumps that.

amyneedssleep · 08/01/2023 12:05

Alex Mullen sounds horrible. Jumping on a bandwagon of hatred and mass ridicule in order to get his own name in the paper, and using Caroline's tragic death as an excuse to do so. At the moment we don't know the exact words or tone Harry has used to describe his relationship with Caroline Flack. It isn't a crime or even morally questionable to write about her, nor to point out that she was treated appallingly by the media.

Volkswagenitalia · 08/01/2023 12:08

I do find the constant use of Caroline Flack's death for point scoring purposes from various people really horrible.

And if he had not acknowledged his relationship with her or the reason they decided to end it, the press and agent would have said he believed those things about her and it was disrespectful that he hadn't acknowledged it.

kirinm · 08/01/2023 13:12

Scraping the barrel of things to sling at him. He doesn't say anything unpleasant about her. He says it about the press.

SequinsandStilettos · 08/01/2023 13:38

Well. what a crock of shit.
Did Alex Mullen not take his % of Caroline's autobiography, where she mentions her short fling with Harry?
Was that not cashing in then?
Rank hypocrisy.

kirinm · 08/01/2023 17:19

Most of her mates are disagreeing with the publicists comments.
