Was there really no one sensible around to advise Harry about the content of this book?

The impudence of his boast about killing 25 Taliban and putting a giant target on his back beggars belief. And that's aside from virginity/circumcision/Charles' teddy revelations. Was there really no one to tell him truthfully he was making a giant mistake. Prince Andrew must be feeling relieved now someone's outdone him in the stupidity stakes. And would Meghan really think it would serve them both to reveal this stuff? Harry's shown himself to be a horrendous mess, way worse than we all thought. If anything comes of this, I hope he gets the help he needs.

I’m finding it hard to believe that Meghan saw a copy of this before it was finished.

Or if she did, she must have not had any legal right to request changes.

He’s gone ahead and confirmed some of the worst of the previous tabloid stories about her rumoured poor behaviour! We’d never have known if most of this stuff was true or not until he confirmed it himself.

And then, just for added affect, he’s gone and embarrassed her further with ‘mounting a horse lady’, and frost-bitten penis.

Is the Taliban stuff even possible? He repeatedly says "I". He did it single handedly?

My first reaction was my god those are people you're talking about. I mean, I wanted to see them beaten so realistically you know there will have to be deaths, but to gloat about the deaths of human beings? Both my Grandfathers served, one in WW1 and the other in WW2. Neither wanted to talk about their war experience and they gave very short shrift to anyone wanting to know what killing they'd been involved in.

It would be interesting to know how the ghosting process worked. Easy enough to imagine Harry sitting in his Montecito study, dictating his grievances about bedrooms and IKEA furniture into his iPhone, and getting a bit carried away with his own truths - then seeing the results typed up into black and white proofs, and realising it's too late to go back. I wonder if the reported 'rowing back on some aspects' happened around the time that page proofs landed on his doorstep. PRH US paid a lot of money for big revelations - they're his publishers, not his therapist.

That is a real concern. He could have much more than the media to worry about

He’s opened up a world of grief for his children:

Embarrassment for the rest of their lives
Further media attention
Security threats from the Taliban
Alienation from a huge part of their family

And Meghan okayed all of this? I’m not buying it.

@Sep200024 I agree, it’s sooo mad that it makes you wonder. M is an intelligent woman. Could she be so unaware of how this comes across- petulant, entitled, unbalanced?
I think the royals generally are so pampered and fawned over that self-awareness isn’t their strongest suit but M has lived a much more ordinary, although successful, life.

It's possible to be intelligent but still have no self awareness or morals .

He's always been a bit dim though who thinks wearing a nazi uniform is even remotely funny. Also why the nonsense that Meghan is intelligent??? She can't even keep her lies straight she's a dim as he is.

Some strange comments about Kate being too thin! She looks fine to me and they look very happy unlike H and M. William has a temper so what who doesn't. Much prefer a straight forward honest man than a whinging whining man child

I don’t think his contract would have allowed him to share proofs, and remember he didn’t write the book.

Ironically he is just feeding the same machine that has caused his family so much unhappiness, just like his mother and father. It’s all a bargain with the devil.

My dh had an interesting perspective, that whilst we are horrified and worrying about his mental health, if it had been written to hit the trump supporting US market, are they having the same reactions as us?

Meghans friends that usually speak to the press have been unusually quiet. Especially Omid.

I don’t blame her for any of this. I think she encouraged the man she loved to take the steps he wanted. I can believe he told her he was trapped, silenced, powerless etc. I can’t imagine she ever thought this is where it would lead. Perhaps she thought (as many do) ‘our lives would be perfect if it wasn’t for his family’.

But, for transparency, I have always thought she has been the one manipulated by him.

I don't see the evidence for intelligence either. According to his book she's harmonising with seals and asking her dead mother in law for guidance. And the claims of feminism? After slut shaming her sister and accusing her sister in law of baby brain? Pffft. They're well suited.

She has always come across as very clever, articulate and calculated. Very ambitious.

He'd have got rid of them. He had tunnel vision and he's so bitter and angry he can't see anything. This has gone way past how the media treated M. I would never trust him again with anything incase he decided to go tell the world.

He's isolating himself more and more. I don't think you can solely blame the death of Diana and the coffin walk for this now.

I don't know what's at the true centre of this but he's one hurt angry man with a level of entitlement that keeps increasing. I am sure there's a personality disorder or MH issue at play. He's in destruction mode and for some reason nobody can stop him. Sadly it's being facilitated by M because if she disagrees she's at risk of being got rid of as well.

I would say that when Meghan talks she sounds very confident rather than articulate. When you read the transcript her words often make very little sense.

I am willing to bet someone would have advised him against it and he thought better. He's arrogant and it shows. Now he's not only gone after the RF but our military. The Taliban have responded and he's put himself in danger, not just himself, his family, theRF, the U.K. and America. He's an absolute idiot.

Megan isn't intelligent or self aware. She is ambitious, self absorbed and has used her femininity to get where she is. she wants to be a feminist but, like H she has tunnel vision and doesn't think things through fully. They just react and encourage each other without thinking it all through.

I don't understand all the pp on this thread and lots of others saying that they thought Megan wasn't as stupid as Harry or that they thought she was an intelligent woman!!! Clearly she is every bit as foolish as him, she went on Oprah and told lies to the world that were very easily proven to be lies! She is every bit his equal in the stupidity stakes, just not as mentally unhinged and far more manipulative!

I don't really get why Harry is more of a target than before for terrorist attack. Look at lord mountbatten. He didn't write a book and still got blown up.

Harry is a target because he has taken himself off to America where it will be even easier to kill him than in the uk given the eady access to weapons . He wanted his family to continue to pay for security which always seemed ridiculous.

I must admit I'm really surprised at some of the daft content he's included. I was expecting a plethora of 'when we were kids with our mum Diana' tales & private photos, commentary of 'how Megan and I dated without the press knowing' and 'look at our gorgeous kids' plus a bit of grannie tales and photos - all using photos never seen before, as that would have sold the book many many times over. People (still) can't get enough of Diana, and if you have decent photos it'll sell the book far more than commentary that gets quoted in the press and puts people off ordering it. They can't print family photos in the papers due to copyright.

Whereas he's just getting mocked in the press. Poor lad.

The Taliban could now justify any actions as honouring the 25 dead Afghans - before, who knew what his actual involvement was. His and his family security costs will go through the roof .

I don’t for one minute credit Meghan with any intelligence. We’ve seen her trip herself up over her own lies many times.

But in this book, Harry makes a mockery of the pair of them, AND puts their kids in danger.

She doesn’t even need to be intelligent to be pissed off with that!

Because he's pissed off the Taliban. Not surprising he's more of a target now 🤦🏻‍♀️
