These were such a fun, carefree couple. How different his life would be now had they stayed together. Chelsea was very much part of the aristo set, clever, savvy & very well educated. She knew exactly what royal life entailed & ran a mile when things got serious. Smart girl.

If it is correctly accepted that Black and Asian people born in the UK are fully British then we must also accept that a white person born in Zimbabwe/Africa to parents that are also Zimbabwean can also claim to be African. It has to work both ways.

I used to live in West Africa, posters would clearly be surprised at the people who are not black but who nevertheless are 'from there".

Totally! It's ridiculous. They have no argument. Meghan wasn't an aristocrat, her circle of friends were socialites & celebrities. Aristocratic circles are completely different & it's very hard to break into that group. The odds were stacked against Meghan from the word go. Would have been the same with any woman from a background outside the aristocracy. Look at the abuse Kate & her family received.

Yes I know a couple who are Argentinan, the wife is beautiful, fair complexion blonde & blue eyed. Her husband a handsome dark Latino. Their children got their mums genes. They are Argentinian.

Chelsea totally knew everything it entailed. All the nursing home visits, ribbon cutting, the silent non-publisiced events. Meghan wanted the glamour but didn't want to do any of the work entailed.

I don't know why OP is trying to erase Chelsea's heritage. She descends from white European (probably British) settlers who very much identified as such and probably still do. Being born in Africa doesn't mean she can experience anti black racism like Meghan can. Nobody is denying she is African, but she is white European. So stop using Chelsea's "Africaness" as why your post can't possibly be racist!

@Joanbull my bother in law is black. Born in London, he is British , he is European. He does not identify as African despite his skin colour regardless of the history of his ansectors. He is as British as me due to his place of birth Why would he not be??

you are completely missing the nuance that surrounds talking about white (decendents of) colonialists born in Africa and the people indigenous to the area.

The Australians i know talk of European, Asian and Indigenous Australians (or First Austrailins some do both, some do one or the other). It is perfectly clear that we are talking about skin colour. And racism isn't against white people. It can be prejudice, for sure, but racism is tied up with a power imbalance.
