Prince Harry says woman with ‘powers’ relayed message from Diana

Prince Harry describes how his sadness over the death of his mother, Princess Diana, led him to seek help from a woman who “claimed to have ‘powers’” and to be able to relay a message.

“You’re living the life she couldn’t,” Harry says the woman told him. “You’re living the life she wanted for you.”

The description of the visit to the woman – about whom Harry does not use words like “psychic” or “medium” – comes late in the 400-page book

“The minute we sat down together,” he writes, “I felt an energy around her.”
The prince says the woman told him she felt an energy around him too, and said: “Your mother is with you.”

Harry replied: “I know. I’ve felt that of late.”

The woman, he writes, told him his mother was with him “right now”. Harry says his neck grew warm and his eyes watered.

The prince also says the woman told him Diana said: “You’re living the life she couldn’t. You’re living the life she wanted for you.”

How come Meghan's mother, who seems sane, doesn't seem to have put the brakes on any of this?

Zuve · 05/01/2023 15:55

Well money is money. Its pretty obvious to me that he is under her thumb and she is angry at not getting all her own way. I hope they are not still on the public purse

Hope the OP is happy here posting anything to make the poor guy look bad

Given the fact that it's in his book, it would seem he has done it to himself 😉

Every single word of that could be said to anyone whose mother died when they were young.

Oh yeah it's the OP making him look bad. Nothing to do with him.

Correct, this does not make him look bad. Your judginess about it makes you look pretty bad though. People cope with loss in all sorts of ways.

Swissmountains · 05/01/2023 16:05

Ah that is really really sad, not only that someone has taken such advantage of his childhood grief, it is also another example that he hasn't developed sufficiently to know it reads as crazy gibberish to normal people.

Meghan I am assuming must have read this rot, and allowed it to remain in the book, knowing the most likely public response. I wonder if she has his best interests at heart, she seems to constantly stand back when he is making huge mistakes...

OR

Harry knows full well it is claptrap but if he is living the life his mother always dreamed of, then it is a poke at William, because what is William doing if Harry has been blessed with the perfect life?
It is another barbed attack at William.
It is quiet shot at William for choosing to stay with the royal family when it is considered that had Diana had more security and better arrangements she might well still be alive today - and living somewhere far away from Buckingham Palace, not unlike Harry one might note. I also remember Harry saying his mother wanted to move to LA apparently, and he was living her best life.

He appears to be saying - you might be King one day, but I am the one that embodies our mother and her values.

The division is so very stark.

Glad you said that. It’s just so depressing to read such ignorant comments about homeopathy.

Homeopathy = woo sounds about right. From the NHS:

Homeopathy is a "treatment" based on the use of highly diluted substances, which practitioners claim can cause the body to heal itself.
A 2010 House of Commons Science and Technology Committee report on homeopathy said that homeopathic remedies perform no better than placebos (dummy treatments).
In 2017 NHS England said it would no longer fund homeopathy on the NHS as the lack of any evidence for its effectiveness did not justify the cost. This was backed by a High Court judgement in 2018

Do they seem like the sort of couple who would do what their mum/mil tells them?

Charles has always been a tad weird with his homeopathy stuff

You’re comparing homeopathy with psychic mediums? Do you file it all under “ Woo”. What do you think the origins of modern medicine are?

I have personally seen a child suffer from eczema from birth. Over the years it got worse and worse and he had to be admitted to hospital frequently. Finally, when he turned 11, his Mum took him to a homeopath. Eventually, once he'd studied the boy, she was given a pill which the homeopath said would make him worse at first but then would clear it.
She phoned me next day to take her other son to school as she couldn't leave the sick one.
By the end of the day the boy was covered in thick flakes and weeping bits...it was awful. But on the third day, it began to clear. By the end of the week he was left with one small patch of eczema.at his elbow. The rest of him was smooth and wholesome. He's a man now and has never been troubled by it again.

The origins of modern medicine certainly did not involve the invention of homeopathy in 1796.

Poor fecker. He really is just incredibly messed up isn't he. Ultimately I'm sympathetic to H&M but think they haven't necessarily handled things well. But the unresolved issues with his mum are just coming more and more to the forefront.

Yes. He is in dire need of professional help.

bakalava · 05/01/2023 16:20

Well, I made the point yesterday that they live in the City Of Woo Woo and it is full of fake healers, seers, psychics (usually all resting actors). They will often use cold reading techniques but with such a well known client, a quick google will be all they need to tell him exactly what he needs to here. Human beings are remarkably cookie-cutter when it comes to their primal reactions to loss and grief in particular.

I think he managed to do this all on his own. He didn't need OP's help in this.

I thought she's close to her daughter (and her SiL). Surely if your child is throwing their toys out of the pram on the world stage you really really try hard to stop them... But I am NC with my mother so likely not the best judge of filial relationships.

That applies to a lot of people starting these threads TBH.

True . I saw someone asking how to hide a topic so they could hide the Royals - it would be easier to just not come on the site for a few days .

I wish we could all 'let them be' but they are the ones writing books and giving interviews about their own dirty laundry. They are the ones splashing themselves over the newspapers for people to talk about them. It's not like everyone is going hunting for it!

Harry and Meghan don't WANT to be ignored, they definitely don't want us to 'let them be' ffs.

There is no cash in people ignoring them and getting a life Heather.

They want every headline, every news channel worldwide to keep on publishing more and more breaking news! Every time they do - kerchin! The next swimming pool is paid for, now that is a pad in Miami, the dollars keep flowing.

Why do you think Harry keeps 'drip feeding' titbits on major networks?
Do you think he is doing it for kicks?

NO, no and no.

This is all about the money, money money.

Does not matter how low it gets, or who goes down with their publicity ship - the only thing that matters is the bank balance.

So partially you are right, if we stopped the threads this would ruin Harry and Meghan - they are banking on this publicity love.

bakalava · 05/01/2023 16:54

Agree. You can love them, hate them, believe them, call them out as liars but they'll be quids in. At this point, they will even plant obvious inconsistencies and troll themselves to keep the cash flowing.
