Norman baker said this (today?)
“And actually when I was working—I shouldn't give the name of the paper—but I was doing a piece for one of the nationals, writing a piece, and because I'm quite critical of the monarchy in many ways I was told I could say what I want about Harry and Meghan but I had to lay off William and Kate.

"That was the instruction from the editor. So I think there was an element of truth in what he says."

how can newspapers give such instructions? Doesn’t this violate fair press norms or ethics?
And which paper is this, does anyone know?

'Because the paper and editor will never employ him again.'

So craven self interest then. If he wants to work for the paper and editor again then he obviously has no interest in unbiased reporting.

I am yet to discover a human who is not driven by craven self interest.

He clearly understands that the press are not the judiciary.

The press editor was unethical but probably not doing anything illegal, or are you saying they were doing something illegal?

😂
That says it all !!

I know a Norman Baker, the ex-MP.
I know he's very anti monarchy - which is probably why you know him so well.
I didn't know he was ever a journalist. Other than writing anto monarchy opinion pieces, which paper is he employed by these days?

Newspaper editors are a law unto themselves. That's why some celebrities are targeted and slagged off left, right and centre, and others are left alone. I thought that was common knowledge. They are commercial enterprises and decide to print what they think their readers will like, and will increase sales accordingly.

Having freedom of the press does have its downside.
