I am really disappointed that the Prince's Foundation has accepted this money from Qatar. A country with terrible human rights abuses. The donation should have been rejected.

The papers never manage to whip up any outrage for members of the RF that are not you-know-who. I'm sure this will pass without any repercussions for the King 😂

I expect someone will be a long soon to declare that it's all the fault of his incompetent lackeys and Charles couldn't possibly be expected to have known anything about it but the reality is he doesn't appear to be too fussy about where the upkeep for his vanity project and Granny's crumbling castle comes from.

Not entirely unexpected, given the UK government has been fostering close economic relations with Qatar for some years now. Qatar has recently signed a deal to invest £10bn in the UK over the next five years, including in the technology, healthcare, infrastructure and clean energy sectors

This is in addition to the money already invested by the Qatar Investment Authority, including in buying the Shard, Harrods, Heathrow and Canary Wharf.

An independent charity which decided to turn down a donation from an important UK government partner would be taking a fairly bold political step itself, and quite possibly breaching its own rules in doing so.
