Paddington is going to Barnardos!

Good to know that all the Paddingtons and teddies left for Queen Elizabeth won't be wasted. Camilla, who took over patronage of Barnardos from QEII, has arranged for them to be professionally cleaned and donated to the charity.

I know a lot of people here were concerned about the waste of them being left as tributes.

I was pleased to see this as well, I thought it was such a waste when so many kids have very little. I’m a bit tired and when I read your post I thought it said Paddington is going to Barbados!

Yes, I didn't like to think of them being thrown away and it's nice to think the the 'Paddington Mania' has had such a worthwhile legacy.

Paddington was such a well-travelled bear, he'd take Barbados in his stride, though hopefully nowadays he'd go better equipped than on his voyage from Peru to London where he survived on marmalade and sea water.

That's what I thought it said at first, too 🙊

Our local Barnardos has a huge cot full of soft toys. It always seems to be the same ones and I suspect cuddly toys are not a very popular item from charity shops.

I think they're going to the children supported by Bernardo's rather than being sold in the shops

I also read it that they're going to the children looked after by Barnados.

That’s good.

saw this video dated a couple of days ago. I’m glad they’re being put to good use! Wish people would consider the impact of the stuff they leave though - what a lot of work for the staff.

Lovely to see the process in action, thank you for the video!

Good to know that some of the Paddingtons were able to read books at Clarence House. Camilla's into the encouragement of reading, I believe.
