He said the 16th of Sept was a strange date to choose . Either they were unaware of its significance to the Welsh or they were aware and if so it was insulting

Choosing to come to Wales on 16th September, shows one of two things, either he knows so little about the country he was imposed upon as prince for decades, that he or his advisors didn't know the significance of the date in Wales.

The other alternative is that they did know and didn't care, either way it annoyed a lot of people hence CNN reporting that the crowd in Cardiff was the most hostile.

I think they do know and chose the date specifically to make a point? Just like Charles had his investiture in Caernarfon- a Welsh-speaking heartland - in a castle built by the English specifically to repress the Welsh. I mean it could not be clearer -remember we won and you lost basically.

He and Kate lived on Anglesey for a while and he had plenty of opportunity to make more of an effort then
I remember reading that they used to have Sunday dinner with the local landed gentry? LOL.
