Did Harry see the Queen before she passed away?

I don’t mean the day she passed away as I know he sadly didn’t make it to Balmoral on time to be with her.

I’m not sure when he arrived in the UK, but in the days/weeks before she passed, had he seen her? Or was it during her Jubilee?

All this "well the other grandchildren visited"

Just stop.

My mum died this year. I'm 1 of 3 siblings. We all loved mum the same but all had different levels of contact for various reasons.

I'd hate for someone to sit and tally chart my number if visits and compare them to my siblings - especially people not privy to our circumstances or the actual number of times we visited rather than their belief they know.

They never made any announcement - all tabloid speculation. Did the other grandchildren see the queen OP? I am surprised only Harry's visit is being questioned . . . .

This. Why ask this question anyway? No one on here would know the answer.

Because it may have been reported that he had visited the queen and I didn’t see it.

Well it would seem that it may not have made the papers if he did visit. It begs the question why people would want to know though.

Just curiosity.

Apparently he declined her invitation to visit her. He was still stroppy about having to pay for his own security - although obviously whilst visiting the Queen he would have been pretty safe for free.

I think it was a very regretable.

Errr no he offered to pay for his security! 🙄
What he couldn't have was his security being given relevant information about current credible threats to his and his families safety. Nor were his security allowed to be armed.

After a kidnap plot and several other threats it was deemed to much of a risk. Certainly if the press and public knew he or his family were here!

They announced that ,’while they were in the UK they had no intention of visiting the Queen”. There was an invitation to Balmoral earlier in the summer which they declined.

I would think that much of the hostility that was apparent at the funeral was due partly to this. Sadly, Harry now has to live with his decisions.

This.
I have no sympathy for him if this is the case.

pilates · 21/09/2022 20:52

I think only a few people close to the family will know the answer to that question. Unless we have members of the royal family on here 😀

Did they announce it or did the media announce it on their behalf having no actual clue?

I mean they visited Windsor a few months ago and no one knew.

So it's possible they've the same since?

They did not announce it, The press announced it. The press who have not a clue what they are doing.

I agree. It is vile. It is just an excuse for the Harry and Meghan haters to have another go.

ARoyalSubject · 22/09/2022 18:09

Oh come on, he lives abroad and had visited her in June.... that's not bad going.
Not being able to see family easily is one of the things which you have to accept when you move overseas.
I was on my year abroad in Australia when my grandfather died. I had about 2 montha left and had just started to really enjoy myself after a long slog of homesickness. If I'd come home, that would have been it finished and done. So I didn't. I missed the funeral (with my granny and my dad's blessing) - I felt a long way from home that day but grandad wouldn't have wanted to uproot me prematurely.

asblindasabat · 23/09/2022 10:27

I don’t hate or dislike Meghan and Harry. I was just curious if they had seen the Queen in the period between the Jubilee and her passing.

I don’t think it’s as simple as they chose not to visit. The queen was very Ill and may not have been fit for visitors. Even the couple of mins she saw liz truss was touch and go.

the queen went to balmoral mid July and simply didn’t return

DancingInTheDressingRoom · 23/09/2022 10:35

Another shit stirring thread. 🙄 The faux ‘I’m just curious’.

The Queen was hosting visitors - the Wessexes said they were going for their family break there after Lady Louise's A level results (out on 18/08)

So, the simple answer is no, so far as we know, given that they live a 12 hour flight away and were not in the UK or Europe until they came over for their recent charity events.

(but we cannot know this for sure, of course, because we don’t know all their movements)

Exactly! Couldn't have said it better myself. And the whole - I don't dislike her

Farmerazza · 23/09/2022 10:43

They saw her in April and in the summer in June from what has been publicised but the OP refused to acknowledge this.

gold22 · 23/09/2022 11:08

It's just one thing after another for H&M, they can't do, or not do anything without being questioned or criticised. I've read something this morning slagging them off for returning to the US the day after the funeral but what it didn't say, was how long they had been away from their 2 small children - anyone would be itching to get back to them as soon as possible which is a much more likely story than them running away from the RF.

In this scenario, none of us know if he visited or not and if he didn't, it doesn't mean anything at all- he could have spoken to her daily/weekly on the phone 🤷🏻‍♀️ the other grandchildren may have visited her once but not spoken to her in a month- it's a really pointless comparison.

In regards to security, I don't blame H for wanting this, the amount of pure hatred towards him and especially M from both the press and public would make anyone feel at risk.

At the end of the day, we're all entitled to have our own opinions but that's all they are- we don't know the ins and outs and the truths and the untruths more than the next person and it's not like the press are neutral either.

Not a shit stirring thread at all. It might look like that as I know there are a lot of goady threads on here about them, but I was asking out of curiosity rather than to make a dig at them.

I don’t really know an awful lot about the whole fallout between H&M and the RF, so it would be a bit unfair of me to hate them for something I don’t know an awful lot about!

Also, I like Harry. He reminds me of his mother and I liked Diana. I respect his decision to move abroad, things were clearly tough and he wanted out. That’s fair enough.

however, I don’t think he should have gone on television with Oprah. I think that further damaged relationships with his family and probably caused stress to the Queen. Also, his grandfather, Prince Philip, was only weeks away from death at the time.

So I do like Harry, but I think it was wrong of him to do the Oprah interview

Harry and Meghan arrived for a summit in Manchester on the 5th of September, went to Germany on the 6th of September, the Queen died on the 8th of September. Even before they arrived, Palace Sources were meddling.

Did Harry see the Queen before she passed away?

I fully disagree. Harry and Meghan stepped back and were quiet for a year. The attacks were relentless. Palace sources briefing that they were going to fail, it was all Meghan's fault, good riddance, the drama was gone etc

They deserved to have their say and I hope they continue.

Since these 'palace sources' can't help themselves.
