Selfish people rejoining Queue for the Queen

BoviTraci · 18/09/2022 18:20

I have just seen a woman being interviewed online saying that she has rejoined the Queue for the Queen . And she's not the only one . Considering that time is now really tight I think it's selfish . Unless the queuing time is shorter than we're being led to believe. She had her turn what about others !

She’s not even in the coffin.. is she??

User1754983 · 18/09/2022 21:50

Probably to get her face in the newspaper

cawfeee · 18/09/2022 22:05

They look for the nutters to interview, she won't be representative and what people say and what they do are often two different things.

Graidan · 18/09/2022 22:08

This thread doesn't sit right. Some people who are neuro diverse might be just doing that.

How unkind to be mocking people who don't do thinks exactly as yourself.

Wonnle · 18/09/2022 22:12

Bet ya someone has done it three times

MissBattleaxe · 18/09/2022 22:15

She'd love Legoland.

lollipoprainbow · 18/09/2022 21:48

@Shiningstarr no, I wanted to but it wasn't logistically possible for me. Even if I had though
I wouldn't even think of doing it again.

Tbf, if you haven't done it I don't see how you can really say that.

VanillaSpiceCandle · 18/09/2022 22:42

It’s not selfish, it’s pathetic. I’m sure they’ll only be around ten people sad enough to do that so will have no impact on anyone else.

How embarrassing to be interviewed and be proud of yourself queuing once, never mind twice.

RaRaRaspoutine · 18/09/2022 22:44

Takes all sorts I spose

TizerorFizz · 18/09/2022 22:46

Queue closed. BBC interviewed a woman who has been twice.

Graidan · 18/09/2022 23:00

*things!!

elizaregina · 18/09/2022 23:03

It'the strangest thing and I guess there is a part of us that wants to suffer? ..it must be this kart that religion speaks too

Cherryblossoms85 · 18/09/2022 23:23

Fill your boots. I'd have liked to see it in some ways, but I can't queue for that long, who'd look after the kids. And the live feed is way cool anyway. And I'm really tired of this competitive bollocks about who loved her more, it's like a stalker convention.

lollipoprainbow · 18/09/2022 23:28

@Shiningstarr because having seeing it once I wouldn't feel the need to see it again, once you've seen it you've seen it surely ???

Im autistic myself and have very little patience (in common with most autistic people I would imagine - Im just guessing of course). I find queueing for half an hour a struggle so the prospect of queueing for 10 hours or so and then doing that all over again........................ Nope. Not likely imho.
Far more likely that anyone doing that is just attention seeking/wanting to demonstrate that their grief/devotion is bigger than other peoples.

Wafflesnsniffles · 19/09/2022 01:53

And being surrounded by literally thousands of people for hours and hours and hours. Arghhhhhhhh! I couldnt personally face it once let alone twice.

camelfinger · 19/09/2022 02:00

When observing the live footage at the beginning compared to now, it seems that initially people looked very sad and overcome with grief. Now there is more of an air of being part of history. To start with it looked like people didn’t know how to behave in front of the coffin and edged past awkwardly. Now there seem to be more outward displays of deference.
So I think the people at the beginning were more likely to be the people who felt genuinely sad, and we now have people who see the queuing as a badge of honour.

Kerrrmieee · 19/09/2022 02:07

That's not selfish.

Just odd.

Were you hoping to pop down OP, then thought better of, because of this lady?

She is.

yourestandingonmyneck · 19/09/2022 03:56

Yeah, I think it's selfish. And weird.

Yes, there may only be a handful of people with nothing better to do than do it twice, so it might not make the wait any longer for others.....but they don't know / care about that, do they? They'd still be doing it regardless of how many others were also doing it and how long it may be delaying things for others.

You do come across these types of people every so often. They seem to just exist in their own world and have no regard for other people.

I came across one just the other day. Was waiting on train platform. Chap sauntering down the stairs, right in the middle, casually, slowly. Train was pulling up. Another chap came jogging down the stairs behind him to catch the train and was heading to the left to dodge around him. Sauntering chap happened to drift to the left and blocked him. Guy tried to go round the other side and the guy casually blocked him again. Rushed guy said excuse me. Sauntering guy just had a complete lack of urgency and refused to either hurry up or let the guy passed.

Rushing guy missed the train.

Couple of people looking at the sauntering guy like "you git".

Sauntering guy completely oblivious.

Notonyerwelly · 19/09/2022 04:33

You've all lost the plot anyway.

Riapia · 19/09/2022 06:02

e-bay have banned wristbands being listed .
Thats pissed on her chips.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 19/09/2022 07:24

I couldn't go as I was working but bought some hessian and emptied the ashes from the barbecue onto and wore that round the office for the first day.

One or two muttered complaints about the cloud of dust that followed me and poor old Derek (who has asthma) seemed to be coffin a lot. Which I thought was quite appropriate.

red4321 · 19/09/2022 08:02

I couldn't work her timings out. She started queuing at 5pm and went through at 1am. She said she rejoined the queue and was the last through at 6.30.

But the queue closed at 10.30pm so how did she rejoin it?

TizerorFizz · 19/09/2022 08:07

Maybe 5pm was the day before and then she came back? Some people are odd though.
