Trying to work out who is walking beside Harry. I. Know the earl of snowden and the duke of Gloucester are behind Harry and William but who is the grey haired man next to Harry?

Dodie66 · 14/09/2022 16:05

Kilt wearing man is Major Jonny Thompson who is believe is equerry to King Charles.

Divebar2021 · 14/09/2022 16:22

Tall man with grey hair in morning dress next to Harry Is a protection officer who worked for the Queen.

Belindabelle · 14/09/2022 16:22

I think the grey haired man is Daniel Chatto, Lady Sarah Chatto (nee Armstrong) husband.

GrazingSheep · 14/09/2022 16:23

It’s David Linley -son of Princess Margaret I think

Divebar2021 · 14/09/2022 16:29

Tried to indicate who I’m referring to.

The Duke of Gloucester was in the procession, just behind the grandchildren (William, Harry and Peter Phillips). He is the Queen's cousin, and grandson of George V.
There was also Earl of Snowdon (P. Margaret's son), Cmdr Tim Lawrence (husband of P. Anne)

milveycrohn · 14/09/2022 17:17

The Duke of Kent (also Grandson of George V) and Queen's cousin is too elderly to walk in the procession, but I did see him, together with Prince and Princess Michael of Kent somewhere (maybe at Westminster Hall?)

Gonegrey31 · 14/09/2022 17:18

There were some security officers in morning dress walking at both sides

JustLyra · 14/09/2022 17:24

The four men in morning suits who were two each side of the royal group are protection officers.

They were at Westminster Hall.

Once the 10 walking arrived the whole family pretty much was at Westminster - all of her children and their spouses, all of her grandchildren and associated spouses, her nephew, her niece and her husband, and her four royal cousins with their spouses, children and some of their grandchildren.

How old is James? I thought he might walk this time.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 14/09/2022 17:32

He's only 14. He's closer in age to the great-great children than his cousins.

He’s too young imo. He’s only 14 and he’s never been heavily involved in royal events.
